Find Your True North – My Newbie Experience At Wanderlust Tremblant
As we arrived at Tremblant this summer, they had teams quickly disassembling Ironman, and it was evident another team was quickly bringing life to Wanderlust Festival. I may pretend to Ironman in my head occasionally, but I do try my best to ground myself through yoga. So, when I saw Wanderlust Tremblant coming to life, I knew I need to experience it before we finished our Summer with Kids at Tremblant.
While my husband and kids were challenging their inner Ironman climbing to the summit of Tremblant, I was channeling my inner Yogi (a person who is proficient in yoga). I cannot call myself a Yogi yet, but the calming look a Yogi protest is something my inner self-does crave. The glow they wear, the natural look to their person, the cheerful smile, mindful expression and open arms you feel calling out from them. It obvious to me a Yogi puts health first; something I too believe in with my whole heart.

Find My True North
Wanderlust Tremblant – Yoga
I loved every moment of Wanderlust; stepping out of my comfort zone and experiencing my best yoga ever. I’ve dabbled in local yoga classes and took online classes before, but there was something about being in a room with hundreds of other people on a similar journey as me. In front of one of the worlds best yoga teachers. It felt like he was speaking to me. I felt like I was alone in that huge room and he was giving me all the steps I needed to find my true North. The deep-down experience I felt is tough to explain.
The yoga class I’m speaking of was for people with anxiety, and the instructor was Erik Giasson. I haven’t covered off my anxiety here much if any, but it is something I deal with daily. The worrying seems to overtake me. In a room with hundreds of other “real people” in search for their own self, felt like I was on the right path at that exact moment. That class grabbed at me and still today I can feel the effects it had on me. It wasn’t about the stretches or the moves; it was about the atmosphere, the experience, the energy I felt coming off those in the room with me.
Wanderlust Tremblant – Meditation
I also took a meditation class. I’m a firm believer that calming the noise in your mind can do wonderful things for all aspects of your life. Although I believe this and dabble in it, I do know I can work harder to carve out more time to practice meditation. When I saw Anand Mehrotra on the timetable, I knew this was my once in a lifetime chance to experience meditation straight from India. Anand is the founder and master teacher of Sattva Yoga born and raised in Rishikesh, India – the birthplace of yoga.
Of course, I was nervous I assumed everyone else knew more than I did. But is that really a bad thing? “Surround yourself with people who lift you higher.” – Payal Kadakia
My mind and body dove in deep, deeper than I’ve ever been. It felt fantastic and reminded me that I know exactly what I need to be doing daily to quiet the anxiety I struggle with.
>Live In The Moment<
Wanderlust Tremblant felt good. It is something I’d love to experience again with a group of friends. There were endless opportunities to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. The teachers were world-class leaders in their practice, and that alone is worth grabbing a Wanderlust ticket.
Since I’ve arrived back home, I’ve been playing DJ Sol’s Yoga Playlist daily on Spotify as a great reminder of my time at Wanderlust Tremblant. I know in my heart what I need to do for myself and Wanderlust Tremblant gave me a new place to look for inspiration. I only spent one day at Wanderlust Tremblant, but I know that one day will stay with me forever.
Next time, my Wanderlust Festival ticket will be for the entire event, so I can experience more true north!
