Netgear ReadyNAS 200 Series Review
Disclaimer: I am a NETGEAR Ambassador and I received this product in exchange for my honest, unbiased opinion and review.
Have you seen the movie Sex Tape, starring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz? This hilarious film is based around a married couple’s sex tape that the husband Jason Segel by accident uploaded to the cloud which automatically loaded to his friends and families devices. I really don’t understand the world of cloud, where does it all go when we hit sync?
Personally, I like to see my files and pictures secure on a physical box in my home, a hard drive. We’ve always had our computers combined on a network within our house. With four active computers plus two smartphones and a tablet for everyone, it is nice to sign on from any station in our home and find what we are looking for with only a few clicks. No passwords or email addresses to remember and no worries about pictures or documents being uploaded into third party clouds that are meant for or your eyes only.
Netgear ReadyNAS 200 Series review
Netgear ReadyNAS 200 Series is the ultimate way to store, stream, and protect your home data within your home’s walls. The break down in his words:
Pretty fancy stuff here. You have your own hot swappable hard drives. Lots of space with 6000 gigs between the two of them. As a small business owner you could use The ReadyNAS 200 Series as an offsite backup. Being able to hot swap the drives and bringing one home at the end of the day.
In our own home, we can use Netgear ReadyNAS 200 Series to store our 10,000 + pictures on and personal documents to free up space from our personal devices and computers. Your files can also be stored in your own personal cloud at no extra charge. With Netgear ReadyNAS 200 Series you don’t have to rely on 3rd parties. My hubby could definitely use this. Thanks for the interesting review!
I love Netgear products! They’re really reliable and I’d trust my important backups on their systems.
I’m pretty sure this would be most useful in our house! Gotta love the wifi!
I think you are right Laurie!
I have a clickFree device and yes I find you should have an external drive for all your cherished stuff!!
I agree all cherished stuff needs protection.
I think it is VERY important to have an external hard drive! With photos going the way of digital; I know I dont really make prints anymore – if these photos are lost off your computer; they are gone!
I could never imagine how that would feel.
I like how the Netgear ReadyNAS can store our important photos and files safe from a virus or a computer crash. This is so vitally important to me because I have many family events and pictures stored on mine.Ilove that this back up sytem is wifi capable and ready to go.It sounds great to me.Thanks for the great review.
Wanda I never want to imagine losing years of pictures in a crash. Better to be safe than sorry!
Netgear products are a key part of my life on the road and given how frustrated I get when I can’t make the internet work for me or I have computer problems, it is so reassuring to have a little extra bit of help from Netgears’ products.
YAY so glad to read this Vanessa! Netgear has a long list of amazing problems to make you life easier.
My worst nightmare is losing all of our family photos (which happen to be stored in a million devices in our house – gah!). This sounds like a cool backup system, especially since a novice can do it (read me!).
p.s. I haven’t seen that Sex Tape movie. What a nightmare that scenario is! Maybe even worse that losing all my family photos 😉
It is a hilarious movie Julie!
Having everything backed up is really important to me – I don’t want to risk losing any important information or memories!
I’ve been looking into something like this. It’s so hard to have so many devices and not one hub where we can back them all together. Not just for organization, but for protection. My biggest fear is losing the only documentation I have of all our memories through photos.
It seem losing photos is a fear we all have. Thanks to Netgear for keeping them safe!
Netgear ReadyNAS sounds like a great way to store all your important memories. I too like knowing my photos and videos are safe where I can see them. It’s great that they are wifi capable. I will be sure to check out Netgear ReadyNAS soon!
Exactly Ladena!
Sounds like an awesome backup system. I love how these boxes are wifi capable now, so that’s one less cord you need to add to your computer, while keeping all your files safe from a virus/broken-down computer. 🙂
I hear you Aeryn, so many cords!
