After School Power-Ups: Peanut Butter Snack Bites *No Bake Recipe* #MyKPBsnackbite + Contest

When I was a little girl I remember each lunch containing my PB & J sandwich. There was not a day that went by where I had my perfectly cut on a diagonal peanut butter and jam sandwich with me. They just paired so well in my lunch and nothing sticks better together than peanut butter and jam, it is a classic.

Today, I serve my kids peanut butter and jam sandwiches for dinner when I am on a time crunch or the kids enjoy making it for themselves for breakfast to give mommy the morning off. This past Easter weekend we gathered in the kitchen as a family with a star of the show whose is typically thrown between two pieces of bread and enjoyed as a sandwich. Today the star was one of three key ingredients and paired with a few of our family’s favourite flavours. This sticky star had the kid’s mouths watering and pure enjoyment was read all over their faces.

But before we got sticky together we watched a quick how-to video of what we were going to be making as a family for the upcoming week of after school snacks.

It wasn’t long before we had four willing kiddies excited to help mommy and daddy (our photographer) with some hands on fun.

We took all our favourite flavours and paired them with three key ingredients. We call our flavour masterpiece After School Power-ups Peanut Butter Snack Bites.

Your key 3 ingredients include:

  • 1 cup oat large flaked rolled oats
  • ½ cup Kraft Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cup honey

You can add a 1/4 cup of whatever flavour combination you’d like. We included these to make our After School Power-Ups:

  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup diced prunes
  • 1/4 cup dehydrated apples slices – broke into pieces

Find some flavour inspiration here from the Kraft Peanut Butter website.

  2. ROLL into 20 (1-inch) balls, using about 2 Tbsp. for each.
  3. CHILL for 20 to 30 minutes or overnight.

After School Power-up Peanut Butter Snack Bites, After school treats, Quick kids snacks, Kraft Peanut Butter Snack Bites With so many little helpers in the kitchen we were not short on help. Everyone had a very important job adding their favourite flavours to our Peanut Butter Snack Bites. Although some thought we could have left out the diced prunes. Mommy took this educational opportunity to assured them prunes were very important for their diet and help keep everyone “regular” plus they are full of fiber and will mean you can eat a few more because mommy increased their nutritional value.

During mixing and shaping the kids were all talking among themselves wishing they could take these Peanut Butter Snack Bites to school as a snack. That is where our “pet name” for them came from. Mommy felt they would be best served after they got off the school bus when their bellies were rumbling from a long day of learning.

And since they are no bake treats, clean up was a breeze!
