Celebrating a #covermoment #Selfie with P&G COVERGIRL #PGmom + Giveaway

Trending

It took me a while before the hashtag #Selfie caught on. I don’t tend to follow trends so it wasn’t something on my radar to understand right away. But as a P&G mom when I seen the hashtag #covermoment I had an incline that it would follow the word COVERGIRL.

COVERGIRL PINK

#covermoment | kəvərmōmənt

Noun: The moment one feels her most beautiful and empowered self and wants to share it with the world. A #covermoment celebrates the uniqueness in everyone – it showcases the moments in life when one feels most confident and authentic.

After meeting a true COVERGIRL P!NK a few months back  I gathered the definition quickly.

#COVERMOMENT COVERGIRL #PGMOM P&G That is me.

I will be honest to admit I join the two-thirds of Canadian women who were surveyed when I say that I am unhappy after seeing a #selfie I snap. Even when my COVERGIRL face is on I still feel silly. I personally think it is that I don’t have the right angle down yet, but maybe I find the whole #Selfie thing silly? When snapping a #selfie with someone else I feel less silly. Or is it my confidence? Oh no… Here is my #COVERMOMENT from today feeling silly and all.

New Line Up in Review.

COVERGIRL sent me a little surprise this week as a P&G mom I received some COVERGIRL products to sample. I must say I love how smooth the COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Sizzle Gloss slides on. I have never been a lip stick or gloss girl, but with age I am really enjoying gliding on a little color to perk up my confidence throughout my day.

My favorite new product that was sent would have to be COVERGIRL TruMagic Skin Perfector. There always seems to be a little shimmer on my nose, not the type of shimmer you want to see when you look in the mirror, but in keeping my routine simple I have never bothered to cover it up with think finishes. COVERGIRL TruMagic Skin Perfector is so thin and quick to apply giving you an amazing matte finish!

  • I am not a fan of selfies. But I do take a lot with my son. Ive learned to just smile. One day I will look back on them and enjoy them!

  • I gave up trying to pose in evry picture long ago, now I just smile and it is what it is! Thats who I am take it or leave it 🙂 self confidence is way cooler than duck lips anyday!

  • I am not a fan of selfies for myself. I am not photogenic at all and have never liked having photos taken of me. I am usually the one in every photo with their eyes closed.

  • Start with a shower…don’t forget to get dressed afterwards. Color is king..perk up your lips with some gloss. Do not attempt sexy face. 😉

  • When I take selfies, I take lots of shots, to make sure I get the right look. Some of them turn out so awful, so at least I have options. Generally I take them when I feel like I am having a good hair day.

  • When I do take a “selfie” (not often), I do so in whilst looking into a mirror – bit of a head tilt, eyes not directly looking in the camera, and this usually works best for me.

    Cheers.

  • I just got a smartphone 31 days ago so I am totally new to the selfie thing .. I had to google the word when I saw it months ago. Taking it took me a while. Mind you if you want lessons on how to take the perfect picture of your thumb, ceiling or floor drop me a line.

After maybe 200 attempts I am comfortable enough to take them and at 54 what you see is what you get. I admit to putting on blush, mascara and lip gloss all from my cover girl bag. . So my tip is this.

The more self confidence you have the better your selfie will look. its really selfieconfidence. The camera sees it.

Take your time. Move around your house or location and find that perfect lighting. when you do move around the camera to capture it. lift your camera up to look up and in for a distinctive look or straight on for a full shot . TILT YOUR HEAD to the left or right don’t ask me why but light refracts off you better and you will look amazing. a little blush and gloss is all you need . put on your fav shirt the one you look great in because if you feel great your picture will show it. snap off several we all have a good side. I have an overlapping front tooth . very noticable on the left not on the right. play with it and you will look beautiful.. we are all beautiful 15 or 50. good luck hope this helps

      #selfie and #covermoment

  • I am horrible at taking selfies, I always end up cutting off half my face or looking incredibly awkward. My only tip is to make sure you take it from the right angle…although I dunno what the right angle is!! #worstselfies ever!

  • I also feel silly when take selfies. I think I take around 30 pictures before I am mildly satisfied with one of them. I wish I had more self esteem and confidence to not care. No tip other than keep taking them until you find a good one 🙂

  • I have taken selfies but never post them for anyone to see. I just don’t feel they are of good quality and don’t represent how I really look. I think lighting has an important part to play in getting a good selfie.

  • Here is a selfie tip! Hold the camera or phone above you so your shot is a downward angle. Eliminates any possibility of having the dreaded double chin!! Also makes your eyes look bigger because you are looking up!
