Family Day at the Races with Canadian Tire @CTMPOfficial #ctmp #NASCAR Experience

Ever since Mr L was a toddler his love for racing has been strong, with determination that he will be a NASCAR racer when he grows up. With children their “when I grow up…” dreams can change almost daily. With Mr L it hasn’t, his determination is showing signs of a dream he has his mind-set out for. The best part is, dream’s do come true. I am living proof (that is a whole other post.) When we seen a local race track would be hosting a NASCAR series we knew this would be a dream come true for our future race car driver, plus a great chance to bring the family together.

A little background.

My dad (Grandpa) use to race stock cars when I was a little girl, I remember spending weekends counting laps with my mom. I will never forget the time he was on fire and went missing from the pack. The fear I felt as I cried from the bleachers. He was fine, thank god. But my early days in the pits was something I came to love.

My in-laws (Papa & Gramma) are NASCAR sprint car fans and traveled through the USA twice this pass season to catch a glimpse of their #88 on the track.

Before Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was CTMP it was Mosport and a track we ( hubby aka Daddy and I) spent open Saturday nights as teens catching the stock car races with friends.

To say we enjoy the rumbles, the smell, the excitement, would be an understatement.

This picture is our family enjoying Canadian Tire Motorsport Park from the Canadian Tire Fan Zone on corner three ( corner with the most action. ) To get space for nine people and a pop up tent on the corner with the most action, you have to get there early. We arrived before 9 am, any later we would have been out of luck.

When we picked our location to spend the day we had no clue that sitting beside the Canadian Tire Fan Zone would have so many perks. WOW did it ever! It worked out more than prefect for us. With a slight communication error we left the case of water at home we had prepared to bring. With Canadian Tire Motorsport Park located in the country there was no turning back to get it. Guess what? FREE water all day in the Canadian Tire Fan Zone = Happy Hydrated Family. Not to forget my favorite snack of all time was popping all day, hot and ready to enjoy. Fresh apples and banana’s were endless and granola bars were out to grab to. Besides great snacks that were all FREE, there were white couches and a tent to take a break in. Outside the Canadian Tire Fan Zone was a Courtesy Shuttle to anywhere you’d like to go with in the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with a small donation to Jumpstart. Couldn’t of asked for anything more and by the end of the day the kids were regulars in the Canadian Tire Fan Zone, well mommy was too after a few bags of popcorn.

Corner three was not only the corner with the most action (in my opinion) it was also in fair view of the lap board and a jumbo screen that kept our attention on the race during the 1:23 it took for the race to go around the street track.
Nothing beats the winning NASCAR truck Chase Elliott #94 pulling donuts on corner 3 after a big WIN.

Nothing feels better than gathering our two families together to enjoy a day at the track.

After the race was complete we were able to gather in for a group shot. This was a day I will never forget, such a blessing to be able to spend it with our family.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is not only a race track. It is a place to build memories, to stop and enjoy the moment. A place to bring your children and or grand-children and share the beauty of the sport. Somewhere to smile and laugh together and I am so happy we did just that. Plus, children 12 and under are free with paid adult admission. Which makes it more possible!

When was the last time you were at the races?

Thank you for reading In R Dream!

( Thank you Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for inviting our family to our new-found tradition.)
