Family Day at the Races with Canadian Tire @CTMPOfficial #ctmp #NASCAR Experience
Ever since Mr L was a toddler his love for racing has been strong, with determination that he will be a NASCAR racer when he grows up. With children their “when I grow up…” dreams can change almost daily. With Mr L it hasn’t, his determination is showing signs of a dream he has his mind-set out for. The best part is, dream’s do come true. I am living proof (that is a whole other post.) When we seen a local race track would be hosting a NASCAR series we knew this would be a dream come true for our future race car driver, plus a great chance to bring the family together.
A little background.
My dad (Grandpa) use to race stock cars when I was a little girl, I remember spending weekends counting laps with my mom. I will never forget the time he was on fire and went missing from the pack. The fear I felt as I cried from the bleachers. He was fine, thank god. But my early days in the pits was something I came to love.
My in-laws (Papa & Gramma) are NASCAR sprint car fans and traveled through the USA twice this pass season to catch a glimpse of their #88 on the track.
Before Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was CTMP it was Mosport and a track we ( hubby aka Daddy and I) spent open Saturday nights as teens catching the stock car races with friends.
To say we enjoy the rumbles, the smell, the excitement, would be an understatement.
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is not only a race track. It is a place to build memories, to stop and enjoy the moment. A place to bring your children and or grand-children and share the beauty of the sport. Somewhere to smile and laugh together and I am so happy we did just that. Plus, children 12 and under are free with paid adult admission. Which makes it more possible!
When was the last time you were at the races?
Thank you for reading In R Dream!
( Thank you Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for inviting our family to our new-found tradition.)
This would have been amazing. I used to go to the Indy races, but have never been to Nascar! Lucky you!
Wow, i kind of forgot about the races, my Dad use to take us a lot when were kids, I’ll have to be sure to find some around here and get my monkeys out for a day of fun! Great post & fabulous pictures! Thank you!
That looks like so much fun, I’ve never been to a motorsports event!
Looks like there was lots of fun to be had on that day! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, been years probably 2001 or 2002
My uncle used to race and we would go every weekend, it was so much fun. He actually won a few races too. We would have pit parties. This was years ago, maybe 15 or so.

Great family fun and memories for you. I have never actually been neither have my boys. I guess it is about time.
Ok…first of all your in-laws have great taste in drivers! Go Dale Jr!
Second…what??? 12 and under free??? That is awesome for a family with 3 kids!

The last race I attended was last year at Michigan international speedway we are regular attenders of NASCAR!
My in-laws were there too! They loved it!
My dad used to bring us to the demolition derby when we were kids. It’s been quite some time since I’ve sat at a racetrack. The Canadian Tire Fan Zone is such an awesome idea. I would never say no to free water.
Okay, you might think this is crazy, but I’ve never been to the races! I bet it is fun! Glad to read that your family had such a great time. Fun event!
Oh man, I can’t remember the last time I went to a race! Your family must have had a BLAST though! And the Canadian Tire Fan Zone sounds so cool! I’ll have to keep an ear out for the next time NASCAR is in town again. 😀
OMG! L must have be so stoked! It is his dream day! CARS, SPEED and FAMILY!! Looks like you had a great day!
I’ve never been, but my husband has been to some of the big races down in the States.
This absolutely looks like the perfect family gathering for your clan.
The last race I went to was when I was maybe 10. I still remember the rumble of the cars racing by. My family is now in to racing dirt bikes. Our race days have a different sound now. Looks like your family had a blast.
