Installation was so quick and easy; it took one hour to lay 300 square feet of flooring. The only tools required are an exacto knife and rubber mallet.

Each step – notch, trim and clicking the pieces together went smoothly. So smooth the kids jumped in to help. What started out as my hubby’s DIY gym floor project turned into a family teamwork collaboration. Installing the 18-inch x 18-inch utility tiles is the easiest floor we’ve ever installed. The piece clicks together without effort. 

DIY tip: Make sure you start with a clean surface. We had to remove a couple of tiles because the tiniest pebble snuck under the flooring. But that’s what’s so great about this product you can pop off a tile and reinstall it without a big deal. Putting The Pieces Of A DIY Garage Home Gym Together

When we visioned turning one of our garage bays into a home gym, we never dreamed it would have come together this nicely. Over the year’s we collected exercise equipment, shopped on Kijiji, our free weights are from Costco, and our latest is our elliptical my SIL gave us (thank you Jewels).

We’ve added an enormous mirror to one wall and have a Smart T.V which will be installed above it. The mirror surprisingly is an excellent addition to our home gym. It makes our space look more prominent and catching a glimpse of pushing yourself is very comforting. My husband has printed off a workout plan and laminated it so he can use a whiteboard marker to tracks his workouts. We also bought a wooden peg board to keep all our extra ropes, handles and boxing gloves organized.
