Bollé Goggles Review: Protecting Your Eyes In Harsh Winter Weather
After our recent trip to Smuggs in Vermont, I realized that our family could use some upgrading when it comes to ski gear. My hands, body, toes, and everything but my eyes seemed to freeze. Thanks to a pair of Bollé goggles, at least my eyes were well protected at the top of the mountain. Keep reading for our Bollé Goggles review.

In Ontario, temperatures can dip pretty low and skiing during -25 calls for many breaks at the ski lodge. But when you’re on a mountain and the run takes 40 minutes to complete, and the wind pretty much blows you away; warm breaks aren’t always an option, so you need the right gear to keep you warm.
Did you know? Bollé Goggles are one of the most advanced skis and snowboard Goggles in the world. Specially designed for skiing, snowboarding, and all other winter sports, Bollé Goggles provide excellent eye protection and unique technical features, so you get the performance you deserve in all-weather conditions.
Bollé Goggles Review
Bollé Over the Glass (OTG) Technology
I had the chance to review a pair of Bollé’s new over the glasses goggle for prescription wearers – The Supreme OTG 21616. The feature I love most about these is the fact that you can comfortably wear them when you forgot your contacts at home. Although I don’t wear glasses anymore (I had Lasik eyes surgery done ten years ago) I do know the pain of being limited when it comes to sports because of prescription glasses.
Bollé Over the Glass (OTG) Technology allows the user to wear glasses without feeling like they are compromising fun.
Bollé Goggles Review: Venting System
Another feature that enhanced my skiing experience was the engineered venting system in each frame. It took a while to get used to the little speck in the upper right corner of the lens but was happy to ignore it once I learned it’s a purpose. It promotes directional airflow across the inside surface of the Bollé lens. Reducing the potential for moisture build-up and maintaining your pristine vision.
Bollé Goggles Review: P80+ Anti-Fog
As you can see in the picture below, my daughter is wearing a pair of older Bollé goggles. Her goggles are filled with water molecules as where my Bollé Supreme OTG 21616 doesn’t have any. That’s because today Bollé uses P80+ anti-fog. There is a premium anti-fog layer in the inner lens which disperses water molecules across the surface of the glass, restricting moisture build-up. During our five consecutive day’s of skiing, not once do I recall my Bollé lens fogging up.
Innovations keep changing, which is another reason why upgrading your gear is essential.
Bollé Supreme OTG 21616 fits like a dream. The siliconized strap kept them in place on my helmet even during a wipeout or two on the mountain. Which I blame on the 6′ of snow Vermont received in 7 days.
Yep, you read that right. March Break 2018 in Vermont Smugglers’ Notch received 6′ of snow in 7 days.
Bollé Goggles Review: Carbo-Glas
Let’s talk about the Carbo-Glas, anti-scratch “A high-tech protective armor applied to the outer lens which creates a shield to significantly reduce scratching, keeping your lenses and outlook as clear as a bluebird sky.”
My anxiety goes through the roof, worrying about my glasses or goggles when it comes to scratches. It wasn’t tilled our last day when at mystery scratch appeared. I was devastated. How did this happen? Was it the wipeout I took on the mountain? Was it when the waitress who moved my helmet during lunch? The outer lenses are sheathed in a protective armor to prevent scratches. How did this happen?
Well, you cannot prevent all scratches from happening, but the Carbo-Glas, anti-scratch significantly reduces scratching. It’s safe to know that the 4-year-old pair of Bollé’s my daughter is wearing (see picture above) have been with me through more wipeouts than I can count. They’ve also held the many tears it took for me to conquer fear and learn how to ski later in life.
Bollé takes my skiing up a notch; they are comfortable, stylish and specially designed for the harsh climates you will come across on the slopes. Leaving me daydreaming about next season!
