I Dare You To Take The PURELL 30 Day Challenge #PURELL30 #ShakeOnIt

I Dare You To Take The PURELL 30 Day Challenge #PURELL30 #ShakeOnIt

Over the years we’ve became a little OCD when it comes to germs. Having a big family, we cannot afford to have common cold germs in our house, we all know once one gets it, it goes through everyone!

Plus, the thought of having creepy crawling bugs lingering around on my hands just gives me the creeps.

We have PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer in both vehicles in the driver’s door and passenger’s door. We have PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer in the mudroom, in my purse and on my desk. I also have it in each child’s lunch bag so I can feel confident their hands are clean when they start to eat. I think you get where I am going here, PURELL products are a huge part of my family’s everyday regimen.

Did you know?

Scientific outcome studies provide evidence that hand hygiene, including the use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, like PURELL Advanced Hand Sanitizer, reduces our risk of getting sick.

I admit this may be a step into the crazy zone but this year our daughter gave the 15 girls who attended her birthday party a mini PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer each in their own gel cases, along with some other loot bag goodies. Call me crazy but I am devoted to reducing the spread of illness-causing germs at all costs.

Natural Instincts Created

Making PURELL products a part of our everyday regimen has created a natural reaction for everyone in our family. When the kids hop in the vehicle they all automatically put their hand out for some “Squirt” (our kid’s nickname for PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer). This picture is from a Google + story I did back in 2012.

PURELL 30-Day Challenge

How to sanitize your hands.

The entire hand sanitizing process should take approximately 15 seconds. Apply a dime-sized amount of hand sanitizer, enough to cover all surfaces of your hands, rub the sanitizer into the palms of your hands, fingers, back and front of hands and thumbs. Continuing rubbing hands together until hands are dry.

  • I have gotten in the habit of carrying purell with me. It is great for those times when there is no soap in water to get rid of the yucky!!

  • Yes there are germs on everything you touch, however you also have to remember that these germs help us to build up immunity to diseases too. I remember that at one time new born babies were suddenly getting seriously ill when they went home after birth (they were kept in hospital for at least a week at the time). Apparently they were kept so germ free in the hospital that they had no defense system when they got home and thus became very ill. So by all means use sanitiser but don’t over do it.

    • Great advice Elizabeth and a very sad story. I will admit I am guilty of overdoing it but when I am in the garden my hands are black and I have no worries about the germs around me. For me my OCD kicks in when I am in an over crowded place, like Toronto. I will be sure to keep your words in my mind. Thanks 🙂

  • Interesting; I hadn’t heard of the challenge before.. but it makes sense as I know I often forget things like the handle of my shopping cart is probably not the cleanest (ugh I shudder to think of it!) place.

Thanks for sharing – I will look into this challenge!
