What is Love without our Health? Story from an Orange Naturals Mom #ONatural
February is the month of Love. Love is something I am so passionate about. You may have read “My Love Story” over on PTPA.com?
I married my soul mate, my childhood sweetheart and although we are so in Love we don’t typically celebrate Valentine’s Day. Love means more than fancy gifts and a titled day, we believe you should show each other Love daily. Perhaps you have read my Valentine’s Day Challenge. Love Without Money? Where I share 29 ways to say I love you without breaking the bank. That being said I would never turn down a gift if one were to show-up on Valentine’s Day.
What is Love without a Heart?
The question came to me with a blank answer. So I asked Google and they tell me it is a song that was released in 2011. But really what is Love without a heart? Let’s break this down – without our health we don’t have a heart – without our heart we don’t have Love. Sounds simple enough to me but the next question that comes to my mind is:
Why do we put our health on the side lines so often if it’s the soul of our Hearts that carries our Love? Alright yes maybe I am getting a little confusing here but please stick with me.
I too at one time in my life put my health on the side lines. I covered my headaches with Tylenol which was actually dehydration in disguise. I avoided the signs of stress until I was mildly depressed, saying yes when I should of said no. Which left me yelling and angry for no apparent reason, all the while I had a fog creeping over me. You see I was in love but I didn’t love my health enough to LISTEN to the signs. I felt like I was young and healthy but the signs were showing me something different. Although I was deep in love and living my dream, my health was on a downturn and the signs were obvious when I finally woke up.
This is something I see in the older generation, loved ones who give so much they don’t take the time to Love their own health and hearts. The Frighten call you never want to receive. It was a few years ago when my husband and I made a vow to listen to our body’s signs, so that one day when we are old and retired we can travel and explore this beautiful world together. Just as we have always dreamed of.
Putting Love in your Health!
I am thankful today that I listened to the signs and made a vow with my soul mate. I am also a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. Since becoming an Orange Naturals Mom I have put health front and center for myself and family.
Today I feel amazing, I listen to the signs that my body gives me, I take all my vitamins, drink plenty of water, eat clean foods, I mediate when I can, practice positive thinking, live a grateful life, educate myself and my family daily. I do need to work on adding in exercise such as weight training to my day but I am aware of it and it is my goal this year to succeed. Although we do spend plenty of time being active as a family no matter the season. All these things I personally feel, pair with the word Love and accompany your Heart and your health to live a happy life.

Making healthy lifestyle choices is what it’s all about I gave up processed foods and condiments for 40 days and went down two sizes
Woot! Woot! Congratulations! I bet you feel fantastic.
What a great post,I love to show love everyday ….we do have limited days to do this, you never know if today is your last one !
Our health is very important and after we start a family we always put ourself last!
Great post! Making healthy lifestyle choices is definitely a way I show love to myself and my family.
Great post! It is very easy to not be mindful of your own health – physical and mental! I certainly am guilty of letting both go to the side occasionally when I am stressed or have a lot going on. I do need to be more mindful – even with simple things like healthy products that promote a clean diet.
Heart health is very important and too many of us put ourselves last. I exercise and strive to eat well and live healthy. Stress is a constant battle to keep at an acceptable level. I did know this about Omega threes. My DD and I have been on them for years. Did you know that in children they can help to ameliorate some of the brain insults from being prenatally compromised. I did a ton of research on that with my youngest, when we adopted her. Omega 3s help her brain and body, and if they improve anything at all for her just a little bit then they are so worth the cost.
I am the polar opposite. Exercise is what makes me feel healthy, gets out any anger or frustration and re-energizes me. I find I then make healthier choices when it comes to food. Mind you I always indulge on the weekend. For me indulging every once in awhile keeps me sane and that’s healthy right!? Being active is a great way to teach your kids self esteem and a healthy lifestyle all while allowing them to be kids! Plus we can always be active together which makes for great family time!
That’s totally healthy Brandy! I would be lost without my weekly sushi indulge or french fries. I should rephrase “I don’t go to the gym or lift weights BUT I am active with my family.” You’re right the is the best way to be active!
I don’t put much stock in Valentine’s Day either, like you I’m of the opinion that love should be every day and not just one day a year. I was really mystified on discovering that cards are even given out in Kinder Garten by small children. I believe that Valentine’s Day has a different meaning than for small children.
Yes Elizabeth I totally agree. This year I will be writing almost 90 Valentines Day cards between four kids. the meaning is far different.
