Hydrating Dry Winter Skin Woes: Complimentary Skin Analysis With The beautyRx Tool
More than Work
I wrote about it before, that I actually worked at Shoppers Drug Mart for seven years through the end of high school part-time and it was actually the full-time job I took after high school. I loved it there. Those women I worked with were like family to me. They really helped me through some hard times when I needed a role model and some words of advice.
No one in my life was sharing secrets about skin care or how to apply make-up. It was those incredible women who shaped my vision about caring for my skin. They not only taught me how to apply make-up but they shared secrets that where passed down to them as children. Most of them I still see through Facebook or the odd time at my old place of employment, however a few of those wonderful souls passed on and they cross my mind often when I am in reminiscing about life.
Real Beauty Experts
Although my experience with Shoppers Drug Mart was much more personal than most, you can still count on the ladies in the Beauty Boutique to help you with your winter skin woes and walk you through a product that will meet your personal needs. Having the first hand experience in store, I can assure you that the Beauty Experts take pride in their job and continue to school on the products they recommend. The doors of communication are open between the brands and the ladies at store level. I can also guarantee that Shoppers Drug Mart has got your winter skin covered with a wide selection of new skin care products to keep you and your family’s skin healthy this winter.
beautyRX Tool – Skin Analysis
Since my days at Shoppers Drug Mart technology is now a thing, gosh that makes me feel old. The Beauty Experts at Shoppers Drug Mart now can offer you a Skin Analysis using the beautyRx tool. This in-store complimentary Skin Analysis consists of:
- Moisture Checker- measures you skins hydration levels. Is your dry winter skin weighing you down?
- Video Microscope- magnifies your skin’s surface by 30 times to help diagnose your skin type.
- Based on your readings, the Beauty Expert will recommend skin care products accordingly
I haven’t had a Skin Analysis using the beautyRx tool but I can sure tell you that my dry winter skin is lacking in hydration and wrinkles are really showing – a day I never thought would come. Since that day is here, I have learned to embrace what naturally happens and use products that will allow those wrinkles to be well hydrated.
Dream Skin Wish List
I was also told many years ago from my co-workers to use an eye cream. Long before wrinkles started to show I have always used eye creams. Since we have always been on a stay at home budget, I would shop the Shoppers Drug Mart sales flyer and always found luck with the brand No7. I noticed when using No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum that my skin was always brighter and I would receive compliments on how fresh I looked.
However when the time comes to splurge I would love to give my skin the luxury feeling and give Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Eye Balm a try. The name alone crosses off many needs from my list, words such as: Revitalizing, Anti-Aging, Eye Balm.
Another skin care tip I was told as a teen was to use SPF on my face. Today I only apply face cream that has SPF in it. My splurge would be on the Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV protector SPF 42 which would help with my dry winter skin.
Favourite Point System To-date!
Since my days participating in the launch of the Shoppers Optimum Points I never shop without collecting my points. This is a bonus when buying from the Beauty Experts at Shoppers Drug Mart because you collect points on participating skin care products. My tip: watch for their sale flyer because the best time to buy is when they have bonus point features. Don’t forget if you have been saving your points, why not treat yourself to your own splurge item, I have done that a time or two and it felt great!

I do my best to stay hydrated, but I forget way too often. I just purchased some Aveeno from SDM and it really helps my arms. I do notice though that when I’m not drinking enough water I get a lovely crease in my forehead.
Over the years I have struggled with water consumption too Randa. I have to agree with you I notice a huge difference in my skin and mood when I am dehydrated.
