New Year’s Eve Countdown With Kids Streaming All Hail King Julien #StreamTeam
Before kids New Years Eve was a big event in the lives of us as a couple. Long before Christmas we would already have our plans in place and our drink of choice picked out. We have been parents for 9 years now and I can tell you one thing I know for sure, everything has changed but for the better. There has not been a New Years we haven’t celebrated with our little people in reach and as we have added kids to our family our New Years have gotten very quiet but at the same time more meaningful.
We rang in 2014 with a full stream of family movies on Netflix, a PJ party and a few trays of Sushi and an endless supply of snacks. Typically the boys -including daddy- fall asleep by 10pm and Miss C and I count down with a woo hoo and we bang pots and pans at the stork of midnight.
Passing The Tradition
The pot and pan tradition was something I was doing as a child. My grandma’s birthday is New Years day and we always spent New Years Eve with her and to celebrate we would make a huge racket of noise at the stroke of midnight. Now that my grandma has passed I feel like passing her tradition on for her to hear those pans up in heaven is a great way to honor her.
New Year’s Eve Countdown With Kids
This year we accepted an invitation to friends of ours. The kids will love celebrating the stroke of midnight with their friends and we will enjoy a little adult conversation. What do you do when their will be 12 kids running wild for numerous hours? Stream All Hail King Julien on Netflix of course.
In the famous DreamWorks Animation animated film Madagascar their were these cute and hilarious lemurs. Do you remember them?
All Hail King Julien – stars the lemur King Julien in events which takes place in Madagascar before the events of the first film. The laughter continues and I guarantee you that the whole family will be roaring in “All Hail King Julien. Here is a sneak peek:
Once you have the entertainment covered, be sure to have plenty of snacks on hand to keep the kids bellies satisfied. No New Years Eve party is complete without party favors and hats to help you celebrate. I came across this great idea today that will help break down the long hours between dinner time and midnight – New Years Eve Countdown Goodie Bags!
The big question on New Years Eve is…. do you let the kids stay up or does your New Year’s Eve countdown start at 7 p.m?
According to a recent survey from Netflix, 42% of Canadian parents admitted they won’t let their kid’s stay up until midnight on the big night, citing their child’s bedtime as the reason. I will leave that up to your parenting style but remember parents it is one night of 365 I am sure a late night bedtime once a year will create memories that will last a lifetime.
