I Dare YOU Canada! My Giving Moment’s Dare2Give Campaign #DareYou
It Comes Naturally
Naturally, I have a big heart and dream about helping others where we can. It doesn’t have to be huge or cost any money but helping others in simple ways can move mountains. This Halloween, instead of going door to door, we took our children to visit their great grandparents. It was something so simple but so rewarding to see their smiles and enjoyment they received from seeing the children in their costumes.
InRdream.com is another platform I use to give back where I can. Over the years, I have built many relationships with brands and this year together will be donating new toys to those in our community that could benefit from the gifts. This is something my family has been doing on our own for many years, but this year with the support from my clients I can expand the gifts we will be sharing.
Raising Kids to Give
Just this summer our daughter (8) cut off and donated 15 inches of her long locks to be used for wigs for cancer patients. This act of kindness was a huge deal for our little girl and the start of something big inside her heart. It doesn’t end there; something as simple as a picture or hand picked flowers the younger boys give to family is something warm that spreads kindness.
We Received a Random Act of Kindness Last Week
On Halloween day we walked to the bus stop and found an assortment of Halloween chocolates in a spooky box in our mailbox. Since we live in the country and have a few neighbours, we don’t actually know who left this surprised. We found this to be a random act of kindness that made us smile and believe that the world is a beautiful place filled with people who care.
Just Because – Feels Incredible
No one asked someone to leave such a sweet surprise in our mail box but research shows that one of the main reasons people decide to give is simply because someone asked. Could you imagine if every Canadian giver challenged one other person to donate or volunteer along with them? I can tell you being the receiver of a random act of kindness, it feels incredible. It is a deep internal feeling that words cannot clearly explain.
Dare2Give
Since it doesn’t seem proper to ask someone to be nice or use their heart in a way to give back, an effective way to ask someone to do something is to dare them.
That’s the simple idea behind Dare2Give, the latest in the My Giving Moment Campaign, inspired by the Governor General of Canada. This campaign is asking us Canadian ‘givers’ to dare others to donate or volunteer with them. By daring our friends, family or colleagues, current givers will have a chance to win for their favourite charity including the grand prize of a television commercial.
I was always under the impression Canadians are a warm and a loving group of friends. But by asking us Canadian givers to dare others to donate or volunteer with them will increase the giving impact and will make Canada a more caring nation.
Plus, if I dare someone to be a ‘giver’ that must mean as a Canadian ‘giver’ myself I am doubling my giving impact by daring someone else, right?
My Dare2Give
If I am going to write about My Giving Moment’s latest campaign Dare2Give, it is only fair I put the practice to use first. I picked five ladies in my life that already are Canadian ‘givers’ to take part in the Dare2Give campaign.
- I dare my girl friend Jessica to find an interesting fact or quote every day for the next few days and text it to your friends & family.
- I dare my sister-in-law Jewels to wake someone up with happiness: buy coffee for the person behind you in line.
- I dare my sister Brandy to donate her unused clothing to a local charity.
- I dare my Mother & Mother-in-law to share their old magazines with your local community centre, doctor’s office, senior centre or somewhere else.
- I dare myself and family to sponsor a child in the developing world.
I Dare YOU!
I dare you to dare a friend or family member to take part in this My Giving Moment Campaign Dare2Give. I promise you will not only feel incredible as the random act of kindness plays through and touches someone but you will also be sharing a movement that will stretch throughout Canada from coast to coast.
Plus, by daring your friends, family and colleagues, current givers will have a chance to win for their favourite charity including the grand prize of a television commercial. Contest closes December 14, 2014, more details on the Dare2Give website.
It is your turn to Dare2Give someone you know. It’s simple, visit the Dare2Give website OR see below to enter how many dares you have made for a chance to win for your favourite charity.

Amazing campaign!
what an amazing campaign!
Your daughter clearly takes after you in the kindness department. A very wonderful thing for her to give to charity. You must have been very proud!
