Complimentary Family Entertainment at Blue Mountain Resort Ontario #BiggerBlue
We are very fortunate in Ontario to have nature’s eye candy surrounding us at each turn. Although it is very common for us Ontarians to run south or east or west to vacation. Why do we run, when Ontario is home to so much beauty?
From sand dune beaches to mountain top beauty. Mother Nature has rewarded us with the gift of nature on every turn and small town you pass right here in our own backyard.
Blue Mountain is Ontario’s largest mountain village resort emerging as a true four-season destination resort.
Big Family Travel
We have been to Blue Mountain Resort Ontario numerous times over the last few years; just this winter we took the kids skiing at Blue Mountain for the very first time. They left with a love of skiing and we left with a love of all that Blue Mountain can offer a big family travelling.
To our surprise we were heading back up this time as Blue Mountain Family Ambassadors. The opportunity to explore Blue Mountain deep in the middle of Summer was a new experience for our adventurous big family and once we seen the endless of Summer attractions we knew Blue Mountain would be just as good or better than our last Blue Mountain adventure.
Where to Start?
Over the next few months I will be sharing tidbits of our big family travel to Blue Mountain Resort Ontario. To be honest we had so much fun as a family, narrowing down over 700 pictures and endless of memories to share has been a challenge for me. Between the accommodations, food and summer attractions there are no shortage of excitement to share with you.
First Class Citizens
During our three day adventure at Blue Mountain I lost not only my debit card, also my cell phone. To my surprise we Canadians win the award for carrying our heart on our sleeve. Both times my heart sank and I ran to lost and found within 5 minutes of me noticing they were missing. Both times my cell and debit card were already waiting for me at the lost and found. Now that has something to say for the families enjoying Blue Mountain and the staff working there – first class citizens all the way.
Free Entertainment
When travelling it is always great to know ahead of time of any free entertainment you can take advantage of as a family. Each time we have been to Blue Mountain we have been surprised with the free entertainment Blue Mountain Resort Ontario is hosting for families.
This Summer we took full advantage of a few of the free entertainment and it made the day very peaceful on mommy and daddy that the kids were smiling and we didn’t need to pull our wallet out once.
Artist– The weekend we arrived they had balloon artists making some of the best balloon creations we have seen, which were no cost to all families.
Beats– They also had some very gravitating entertainment on the main stage that was music to our ears as we walked the beautiful cobblestone line streets.
Cool Down– The splash pad is located in the heart of village which was a magnet to the children and it was so hot we didn’t bother with a towel the beautiful gift of sunshine dried the kids off nicely.
Life-sized– The competitive side came out when daddy and the kids took in a life-sized game of chess at Blue Mountain Village life sized chess board
Inspiring Minds
If your kids are anything like my country boys and girl the frog pond will be sure to keep them entertained. As they watch the beauty of life hop and wiggle before their eyes. We didn’t have any nets but grabbing a few from the store on your way in would give you an hour to pull up a Muskoka chair and watch the children play.
Quirky
One afternoon we where waking along the village and we were taken by something I had never seen in real life before but you may have seen them in the movies or the circus. Stilt-men. These two men were the center of attention not only because they were towering over the crowd of people but because they had the men in black look to them and were dancing away with a cool swagger.
Hard work pays off!
One of our favourite free entertainments well at Blue Mountain Resort is the free open-air Gondola ride back down the mountain after hiking up. The hike up is beautiful and you have two options to choose from which gives the more experienced hiker a challenge or a slower paced hike for the hiker who prefers to stroll. Plus the view is priceless.
Starry Night
After a busy day of entertainment in the heart of Blue Mountain Village during our stay families are welcomed back for a free family movie under the stars. The village was lined with Muskoka chairs and children in their PJ’s. It was the kind of night that makes you sit back and smile at because so many families were there building on a day of memories. Blue Mountain hostess these movies a few times a week, be sure to check if they are showing when you arrive.
Even if the movie playing doesn’t interest you be sure to take a stroll under the starry night hand in hand because Blue Mountain Village lights up and feels very surreal as it comes together with a new ambiance.
