Mother to Mother Advice, Birth Story and More #PampersMom
Different
As a mother of four, I am pretty confident when it comes to sharing my two cents of advice about babies and pregnancy. All four of my pregnancies were different, all four of my labors were different, all four of our babies were different and all four of our children are different. The chances are high that I may have the answer you need.
Birth Plan
I wrote a guest post over at YummyMummyClub.ca last year call “Au Revoir, Birth Plan.” It is one of my favorite articles I have written and I would love for you to take a moment and enjoy a great read. I am sure you can get it from the title, but a birth plan can quickly go out the window. Especially when your baby is stuck!
C-Section? You must pack…
After three c-sections and an “ah natural” birth, I know a thing or two about packing a hospital bag. I learned quick that if there are chances you are having a c-section, pack the biggest snuggest granny panties you can buy. Why, you may ask? To keep your sore jiggle belly as tight as you can. After an c-section the slightest move or cough causes severe pain. But I did it three times in a row, no worries it heals and you may just do it again.
Mother to Mother Advice
- Babies are smarter than you think.
- It doesn’t hurt to start a routine your first few weeks in. It actually will make life easier on you as a mother in the long run.
- Sleep. Eat. Play. The most important order to remember.
- Swaddled + White nose + Dark Room = A good nights rest.
- Cranky baby may mean a hungry baby.
- As hard as it is on you as a nursing mother, supplementing formula is OK and will actually lift a huge weight off your shoulders.
- If your baby is a noisy sleeper, move him or her away from arms reach. They will let you know when it is feeding time.
- Light’s out during night-time waking. I kept a tiny light to get me by during night feeds. Plus I had everything from a change of clothes, extra bedding and water beside my bed to make it as quick as possible.
- Most importantly. Smile, laugh, enjoy, eat and ask for help.
