Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to an intimate picnic lunch with a focus on the new Signature McWrap, along with a few fabulous ladies including Anne Parks, Director of Menu Management for McDonald’s Canada.

Who is Anne Parks? She is a Canadian woman who loves whole foods, living in the country, gardening her heart out, cooking homemade meals, she is just as sweet in person as she comes across on this video. Take a minute and learn about the woman behind the scenes at the double golden arches we all have come to know over the years.

When I was invited to this intimate lunch the first question that came to mind was about the food, the chicken, the wholeness of the ingredients used. I am a huge foodie and I take great pride in preparing fresh homemade meals for my family. You will not find processed foods tucked away in my deep freeze. Much like Anne Parks we garden, we cook and I live to eat.

Understanding that McDonald’s is a staple in every child’s childhood, I have never deprived our children from the enjoyment it brings, although I would make a quick stop to grab my dinner after we left. After having my questions answered and meeting the strong passionate woman behind the menu I can confidently say,

“That I will now be ordering along side of my children when we stop at McDonald’s. All the prejudiced thoughts I had, were just myths in the wind. As I sit here with my McCafe coffee and think about all the times I cringed and turned my head to a McDonald’s meal, I feel completely embarrassed in shame.”
