Enjoying Stillness In Blue Mountain: @ScandinaveBlue { Travel Review }

A few months ago my husband and I escaped the busyness of our life’s just for a moment, to refresh and reconnect. Something I believe is so powerful for each couple (although the children never leave our mind or mouths. ) Along our journey we got passes for a day at Scandinave Spa in Blue Mountain, Ontario. It was our first time visiting there and the experience was very still and peaceful just what business owners and parents of four need.

Rejuvenate, Revitalize, Relax…

Scandinavian baths are widely recognized for their energizing and relaxing effects. Scandinavian baths and hydrotherapy are associated with many benefits, in addition to cleansing the body, stimulating blood circulation and the release of endorphins. All of your senses will be wakened, your muscles are soothed, a general sensation of peaceful well-being washes over you. The process can last as long or short as you’d like.

Our Experience

This was not my husbands number 1 choice for our adventure. He is a very manly man and quiet moments means he is not crossing off his long list of things to get done. Which is why it was so important for me to get him to agree to this experience. We both needed some quiet time to bring our minds to a stillness, this is something I personally have been working on a lot lately through meditation and deep thoughts.

” The moment we pulled up to Scandinave Spa in Blue Mountain we both were in awe, we are nature lovers and the old rustic feeling gave us a down to earth feeling that is hard to explain. The process was simple sign in, males go that way, women go this way. We each got 2 towels and went to the change rooms, which were beautiful, stunning and every detail was in place. Lockers, showers, benches, lotions, hair dryers, the rustic feeling was still present.

I was amazed by the amount of couples that were there, however we seen girlfriends, mom and daughter teams, even a few guys stretching after a game. The hot pools were HOT and the cold pools were SUPER COLD but my favorite of all was the Eucalyptus steam bath the scent, the warmth was just incredible! I left feeling well rested, peaceful, recharged and realizing the powerful effects that being in the moment has on our life. ”

How do you recharge as a couple?

Thanks for reading In R Dream!

( We enjoyed this experience all on our own. )

  1. My husband and I try to schedule a weekend once a year at least! This place looks like heaven

  2. Kerrie @ Family Food and Travel says:

I’ve always wanted to go there!
    Sounds delightful.
How do we recharge – a getaway over night. We went to a lovely inn in Picton, ON recently – such a lovely treat.

  3. Oh I love this place! I went once on a girl’s weekend then I went back with just my husband and we had the most romantic and relaxing time! Great suggestion for couples who want to “reconnect”!

  4. That looks like a beautiful getaway! Hubby and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year….trying to figure out where we should go.

  5. What a gorgeous place! My husband and I also take short trips together to recharge, though we don’t do it as often now that my daughter is a teenager and spends a lot of time at her friend’s house – we get plenty of quality time alone at home!

  6. We are beach people, so staying at a hotel or bed and breakfast near the ocean is how we love to recharge. Where exactly is Blue Mountain located? I think I missed that in the post.

  7. That looks like a lovely place to relax. I wish I could get away, but for now, I relax by reading on my back porch in the warmer weather.

  8. I’ve never heard of Scandinavaian baths, but it sounds divine! It’s funny everytime we take out some special couple time all we do is talk about the kids too! 🙂

  9. It’s so important to take that time together!! We try to make time on our own every evening once our girls have gone to sleep. It’s when we catch up from the day and find out how things are going.
