Adventure’s In Niagara With Our Nokia Lumia 620 #NokiaSpring
A few weekends ago we packed up the kids to celebrate my birthday and Easter in beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario. We have been a few times before but this time we were experiencing it from a different angle, leaving us feeling like we were on top of the world.
When you are celebrating or enjoying an adventure with such a beautiful back drop you got to make sure your camera or smart phone can capture those memories with each click. I was over the moon when I got to take the new Nokia Lumia 620 on our Easter weekend road trip to capture our memories, because we all know the importance of a great pictures to bring you back in time.
The first thing Miss C said when we shared the excitement with the kids about our upcoming adventure was ” Will the Easter Bunny find us at the hotel?” Great question and totally acceptable coming from a 6-year-old. I had never been away for Easter before we always woke up in our own bed. I took the question to twitter, tweeting from my new Nokia Lumia 620 of course and @cathyincanada gave me this amazing idea to help soothe the worries. ( See picture to the right. )
Now that we had soothed the worries with a special letter for the Easter Bunny to see, we got to enjoy a bit of what Niagara has to offer. On the drive down I had a chance to play around with my Nokia Lumia 620 finding the perfect lens for our adventure. I downloaded over 10 lens apps, gave them a try to narrowed my search down to a top few that won my heart.
Cinemagraph is extremely cool and I had a lot of fun playing with it. It takes a still picture and you can add in movement by selecting a spot on the picture. It does require a steady hand, but very neat once you have snapped the prefect shot.
On my Nokia Lumia 620 the app lens I downloaded that completely won my heart was Sophie Lens. She doesn’t have fancy tricks or edits, but she is beautiful and unique. I cannot explain why I found myself using her with each photo I took, but the old-time feel gravitated to me. Within the Sophie Lens there is 5 different effects which I captured below from our Hotel room window.
Trying to snap the prefect family picture can sometimes be a nightmare someone is always looking away. Most times I am okay with that a picture speaks words and when busy King is darting it tells a story. However there are times you crave for the prefect family picture, one you can share with family in a Christmas card. There is an app for that. Smart Shoot snaps 5 pictures within seconds and allows you to piece together faces, remove objects to make “the perfect” group picture.
The last lens on my Nokia Lumia 620 that left me in awe was the Panorama Lens. It made taking a stunning picture effortlessly. Words cannot say just how amazing this shot is, it speaks for its self.
Hop, Hop
After a night of splashing in the indoor water park, eating the most colorful and yummiest buffet I have ever tasted. Sipping chocolate martins on my 31st birthday and watching the sun go down in front of the most beautiful view I have ever seen from any hotel window. I didn’t know this weekend could get any better but it did…
” Mom I brought the Easter Bunny to the whole hotel, he came, he came! ”
It felt like Christmas morning, the magic in their eyes as they found eggies all over the hotel room was a moment of believing and by far a moment I have burned in my mind from that weekend. She believed he would find them, she made sure of it with an open invitation and he gave her all he had. “HOP, HOP”
It was a magical weekend, where we built memories together as a family, capturing each moment with our new Nokia Lumia 620. I was so glad we got to know each-other a little better and take in a small piece of the beauty this incredible world has to offer.
Nokia Lumia 620
Along with getting to know my family all that more, I got to know our new Nokia Lumia 620 a bit more too. First off I cannot get over how family affordable this premium smart phone is priced at. It is available only at TELUS for $0 on 2-year term on any rate plan or $250 month-to-month.
From my pictures above you can see it also captures great pictures. This smart phone features an exclusive camera lens that transforms the creative power of the 620’s five-megapixel main camera and VGA front-facing camera.
If your an adventure seeker like me you can navigate your world, with access to the world’s best maps and location experience, including Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport. What I love about this feature is you can download the map you need right to your phone, so even if your data plan is low you will always know where your going. Note: Make sure you download your maps before you leave a Wi-Fi connection. To download Nokia Maps you require Wi-Fi, we found that out the hard way.
Another favorite app that it includes is the exclusive Nokia City Lens, which displays information about local surroundings overlaid onto buildings as seen through the camera viewfinder. This is great when you’re a country girl like me navigating the big city, getting lost happens far too often.
Another favorite feature the Nokia Lumia 620 offers is Kids Corner. If you have ever passed your smart phone to your toddler or child you will love this one. It provides a lock out screen so they only have access to the apps you give them. Giving you a piece of mind handing over your phone, they only thing you get back from them is a sticky screen.
I will admit just like everything there was a learning curve going from my Android smart phone over to a Windows 8, but they say practice makes perfect and now a few weeks in I am swiping around with confidence.
So much to still learn about this incredible smart phone, got a question I didn’t answer? Check out Nokia Lumina 620 product page for more details.
Now that Spring has arrived, what memories do you plan on making?
Thanks for reading In R Dream!
