Eats: French Onion Poutine, Eh! #CavendishFromTheFarm YUMMY!

CavendishLogo I don’t share my love of cooking nearly enough on In R Dream, since our 4 children I have lost my spark in the kitchen and time. Although my spark was missing my values in the kitchen have never left. There are many brands and/or products I will not waste money on, processed foods are at the top of that list in our house. My husband works hard for the food on the table and I feel its my job to serve only the best. With 4 wee ones I know they deserve a little childhood foods now and again. So when I see the opportunity to give Cavendish From the Farm frozen fries a try I was excited to see the innovation behind the “frozen fries” I have been avoiding in the supermarket. With the title reading “From the Farm” I was interested to see if they were just as good as the potatoes we hand-pick from our garden in the summer.

Homemade French Onion Poutine

It’s not often you have a homemade french onion soup cooking away in a slow cooker, but today I did. I don’t often cook from a recipe, I get inspired from my fridge and go with it. With the inspiration from my slow cooker and Cavendish From the Farm frozen fries in my freezer, I seen dinner that night and it was oozing with flavors. A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Everyone was getting a bit exciting, being January poutine is typically a summer time food for our family. Of course unless mama feels like spending the night in the kitchen chopping and deep-frying 5 lbs of potatoes.

” No longer, will poutine be a summer food for our family, Eh. Cavendish From the Farm surprised me! Those chip trucks have nothing on mama’s homemade french onion poutine. Cavendish From the Farm fries tasted fresh, like we just dug them out of the garden ourselves. Cavendish you got me hooked! ”

Cavendish From the Farm

Canadian made –  from the rich, red soil of PEI! From hard-working and “eh” plus individuals over at Cavendish Farms carefully select only the most delicious, premium potatoes. Cavendish potatoes are prepared with the skin on and are made with 100% canola oil and lightly seasoned with sea salt so that your whole family will love the delicious taste and home-style appearance. Plus – they’re also low in saturated fat! Which has mama smiling.

” My first bite into a crisp Cavendish From the Farm fry, tasted like I just slaved in the kitchen chopping and frying all night. No freezer taste, no ketchup needed, pure yummy potato flavor was all I tasted. My instant thought was finally a frozen french fry I WILL serve my family with a smile.”

The Cavendish family has my attention with customer focused on everything they do with core values in place. Striving to meet the demands based on intriguing and team work. Which has me “Proud To Be Canadian”.
