Summer Camp Memories
Last year I took part in the Our Kids camp memories blog hop, it actually caused me some anxiety. I never attended summer camp as a child, but I did have a taste and you can read more about it here.
My husband did attend summer camp as a child and speaks highly of his time, playing, exploring and learning during his summer months. His memories are so strong and something I cannot wait for our children to experience and for them to hold and look back on.
Camp Fire * Burnt Marshmallow Smell * Music * Laughter * A Guitar or Two * Friendships * Giggling Girls * Rough & Tough Boys * Pop & Chips * Don’t Forget Late Night Dips

Love good memories!
I send my kids to day camps as they are not old enough for away camps. I love camps its a great way to make new friends, memories and skills 🙂
Love all the camp memories!
such a great promo, love the banjo
I don’t think my boys will go to camp this summer. I didn’t go much as a child either.
I made a comment!
Thanks!
Oh! I love this! I went to camp as a kid. I think it’s something all kids should be given the opportunity to do. What a great experience.
Your right! No child should be denied the chance.
I only attended day camps when I was younger. They were tons of fun! I would have love to experienced an overnight camp! I hope to send my children one day!
I bet day camp was a lot of fun. I am so nervous about the day I send the kid over night.
I went to camp once when I was a child. Camp Veselka, a Ukrainian camp from my church.
Will I send DS this summer….thankfully he’s still too young(4 yrs old) and I would not be able to relax having him not with me. When he’s older for sure, I think it would be good for him 🙂
Yes 4 is too young, I do agree. The experience will be great, when the time is right.
Oh I wish we lived closer in the GTA. We’re five hours away, but I know my kids would absolutely love to learn more about camps.
I remember camp when I was younger and I definitely want the same experiences for both my kiddos.
That is far from the GTA. I would suggest you check out Our Kids website, its a wealth of information.
I never got to go to summer camp but I did go on a week long school camping trip (years ago). I’ll never forget building a fire, on my own, and lighting it without a match …. yes, I rubbed two sticks together until I got a fire started!!

My parents never had the money for us to attend camp as a kid, and it was something I dreamed about many times. When my girls get a little older I’ll find a way to send them.
Great plan! Thats mine too, to find a way!
What a magnificent event! I wish I lived in the area so I can attend!
I have never been to camp, ever! I would love for my son to go when he gets old enough, I think it’s a great experience.
This is such a great program! My one summer camp memory isn’t so great, I cried to come home the whole time. But everyone else seemed to be having a great time!
I’ve not been to camp as a child.
I’m not sure about my husband. I just sent to ask him.
I love the idea of kids having a thing for themselves to log as memories.
Great memories! Thanks for commenting!
I was only able to attend camp for a couple weeks one summer and it was lots of fun. I was able to experience things I would have never otherwise been exposed to at that age. My wish is that every child gets to experience summer camp at some point in their childhood! Great post!
Great wish! I hope it gets granted! Thanks for your comment, one child is a little closer now.
My husband and I never attended camp as children but it’s something I definitely want my son to experience!
Thanks for swinging by!
