Nesting With Closing Tears #SearsBabysRoom
Bonding Takes Place
There was one item we bought before our first baby came. An item that many mothers don’t put on the top of their list, but one I think every mother deserves to have. A Glider!
The endless nights I sat up in our glider rocking our four babies, shhhing them to sleep, nursing them, and snuggling them has burned memories in my heart. Moments I will never get back, but can only replay in my mind. When I sit in that glider today where moments of JOY took place I can only feel happy. I don’t remember the tears from a sleepless baby or the sleepless nights I endured, but the JOY and love that bonded us as mother and child. Now that our last baby is almost 2 (WOW) this is an item I will not be parting with, it holds too much happiness for me. When I am old and grey I hope to one day rock in the same glider with my grand children on my knee. (Yep, happy tears are rolling as I type.)
What is your must have item in the Nursery?
Do you have one that pulls your heart-strings like me?
Sears Newborn Nesting Event
Get the glider you deserve or the bedding you’re in love with, Sears Canada is celebrating your nesting cravings. This cash card works similarly to a gift card, so you can come back to The Baby’s Room for any last-minute additions to your nursery until May 31! For those shopping in Edmonton, you’ll receive 15% off at the point of purchase, instead of a cash card – so let’s get shopping!
Its is hard to know what you will be needing before your little bundle arrives and having a gift card to use once your settled in, is a breath of fresh air when you need it most.
Easter Fancy
Holiday’s are always an exciting time of year for Sears! Whether you’re looking for those traditional poufy dresses, or more contemporary cotton styles, They Baby’s Room is armed at value prices from $19.97, these Easter pieces are on sale until March 31st.
This dress caught my eye, Miss C would look adorable in it and feel like the little girl she is. It is contemporary yet traditional and I am sure I could find a similar one to match her if I looked hard enough.
Do you dress up for Easter?
Closing Tears
This month completes my 6 month journey as a #SearsBabysRoom Brand Ambassador, I have to share a bit about my amazing journey. During my 6 month adventure, I have been welcomed with open arms to Sears flag store at the Toronto Eaton’s center a few times meeting the smiling faces behind the scene, from the security guard that walked me through the close doors to The Baby’s Room floor. The floor manager who is filled with endless knowledge about the department she calls her baby. The marketing team who listened and questioned the perspective from a modern mothers point of view. The buyers who are proud of the styles they pull ( and they should be ). Mom Central who gave me this amazing opportunity to fall in love with Sears all over again. I have spotted the PTPA seal, registered with my lil sis for her little bundle on the way, got beautiful family pictures done in the Sears portrait studio, felt, touched and announced the arrival of OshKosh and Carters, we continued the Wish Book tradition, shopped behind the scenes, I have donated beautiful toys to deserving families this Christmas ( thanks to Sears. ) Plus I have gifted you my readers with incredible giveaways. The journey was by far my favorite to date for many reasons but the one that highlights in my mind is because Sears cares about making life for mother’s easier and because of that working with them on this campaign makes it hard to say “Good Bye”.
When you think of Sears what comes to mind?
Thanks for reading In R Dream!

Even though our boys have grown out of their baby’s room, I still have the glider I rocked them in. It was a gift from my parents and probably one of the most important pieces in the nursery besides the crib.
Sears has been my go-to place for dressy clothes for the boys for special holidays and comfy sleepers when they were little. I love their selection.
It sounds like it’s been a wonderful experience. I have a rocking chair that I remember fondly as well. It’s funny how we forget those long nights so easily and sitting in the chair brings back only the good memories.
We never got a glider due to finances and I’ve always regretted it. It would have been so much easier if we had one. I love seeing that Sears not only offers them, but offers them at a great price. P.S.- I love their Easter dresses too!
As an ambassador myself I agree it’s been a fantastic project, perfect timing to follow along the pregnancy of my own little man who is now just 6 weeks old. Sears has been a fantastic supporter and their service and promotions have been great, can’t wait to see what else they have in store for The Baby’s Room.
When I think of Sears, I think of old traditions like Wish book toy shopping, collecting the stuffies at Christmas ( I started the year I met my hubby!) and of course its the only place hubby buys his work clothes from!! Its a great store!
I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already! I loved reading your posts and following along 🙂 We also had a glider that we LOVED! I really enjoyed snuggling with my kids as babies while rocking them back and forth in it 🙂
has it been 6 months already??? wow! what a great campaign you got to be a part of!
When I think of Sears I think of the catalog. Growing up it’s all we had in the tiny town I grew up in.
My nesting must have item is also a glider rocking chair. I have to have one for those long nights of nursing and rocking the baby to sleep.
For me, Sears is a quality shopping experience. We often get all the kid’s school clothes there. I love the styles and shopping at Sears!
I absolutely love my glider!!! My husband got it for me a little over 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my 5 year old. We were in a store and walked past a glider in the baby section and he mentioned that it would be a great item to have when we had a baby. I had just found out that morning I was pregnant and was waiting for the “right” time to tell him – of course, with an opening like that how could I resist – my response was “I guess we need to go ahead and start pricing them now, Daddy-to-be” Priceless!
I’m a huge Sears fan – from their home appliances and family attire! What a great opportunity for you!
It sounds like you had a great time being an ambassador for them.
Sears to me is where I always purchase my kids dress-up clothes from Sears. Easter, Christmas, Graduations, Baptisms.
Aww, we loved our glider too! We just recently sold ours and my husband and I both shed a tear. We didn’t have room to store it so we decided to part with it but we did discuss it for a long time. We both have such great memories about sitting with our little guy and rocking him to sleep.
It’s been a pleasure working with you in the program!
