Making A Real Mom @Pampers Video: Behind The Scenes

Top Secret Mission

In the month of June I worked on a top-secret project with Pampers. One that was purely a blessing to me and our family. I was only able to spill the top-secret mission with close family and friends. An experience that helped me wrap up my baby years and assisted me to accept and move on to the next chapter in our lives. It is far more glamorous than I ever expected, giving me a proud feeling about my family and about the mother I have become. I call it the icing on the cake, the turning of a page and the welcoming of a new chapter, not to forget, moving away from diapers.

The mission was to host a camera crew in our home, featuring our fourth moving on to “Pamper’s Easy Ups”, Q&A interview with me and catching glimpses of our children playing. We accepted this gracious gift, now the pressures was on to clean, organize and shop for a new outfit.

Behind The Scenes

It was a long week, counting down the days till the film crew arrived. We had no clue what to expect. It wasn’t till last-minute we found out how many were arriving and the layout of the day. The rumors I heard about hosting a film crew in my house where comical. That my street would be lined with loads of people and the yummy food trucks would feed us prime rib and lobster. The visions were a little intimidating and I was happy to hear it would be a small crew of 6 and they were leaving for lunch to give us a chance to feed the kids in quiet. Although Lobster did sound good to me.

Our crew of six arrived and took over our home. They were a great group and full of manners, making sure I was comfortable with every move. I was comfortable, but very nervous about my interview. You see they never shared the questions they were going to ask, there was no opportunity to review or prepare my answers. They wanted real mommy answers that showed no preparation just pure honestly and love in every answer.

Daddy took all the picture from behind the scene which capture the story and memory very well. Looking at the commercial now and reviewing the pictures it is very neat to see the scene from still to action.

Little Oakley really enjoyed watching the crew set up the stage. I must thank both our mothers for taking the other 3 children outside to play so we had time to take in the experience without interruption.

The interview took a little over 2.5 hrs and was filled with repeat questions to help capture a seamless answer in my real mommy moment. To my surprise after the first few my comfort level rose and I felt great. My husband and Amber (Pamper rep) were on the side lines in the kitchen cheering me on, watching from the screen.

The potty walk a famous scene in the commercial. I was nervous about how many cuts this scene would have but little Oakley was a champ and we only filmed it twice. He really liked the Director and that made the walk a little more fun for Oakley.

The quality in these pictures aren’t the greatest due to lighting however this scene was one of my favorites. The children waited all day for their moment to shine, the few seconds they had on-screen highlighting the way our siblings play. They all did a fabulous job capturing real play moments with a camera crew looking over them.
