Kellogg’s has imprinted in my childhood.

There is a very old treat I remember making with my mom when I was little. Something so simple to throw together but something that has left an imprint on my memory. Kellogg’s Rice Krispie treats. Back then we kept it simple and never steered away from the recipe on the back of the box. Today that simple timeless recipe can be made into your own creation. They don’t have to be plain and square anymore, let’s get creative.

Rice Krispies

We added some cocoa and peanut butter to our melted marshmallow mix which as a whole lot of flavor. We also doubled the batch because with four kids and two adults in the house one is never enough. Plus we had a big idea brewing and it needed a lot of squares.

Your invited… Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats for Toys

This year Kellogg’s is asking you to have fun with your family well supporting a great cause.

Hows? Make a Kellogg’s treat with your family.  Then, take a picture of your treat using a digital camera or smartphone. Lastly, upload your picture to RiceKrispies.ca. It’s that simple!

Give back. For every original photo of a Kellogg’s treat uploaded to RiceKrispies.ca, Kellogg will make a donation of $20 to The Salvation Army, up to a maximum of $30,000. The Salvation Army will use this donation to buy toys for children in need across Canada this holiday season.

Where can you get a return like that? Fun with the family and giving back too. Sounded simply enough for our family, here is our Kellogg’s treat that we uploaded.

Rice Krispies Treats for toys make a treat

Together as a family we really had a ton of fun. The children all put so much effort in to their train car, even Little O (2 yrs) was proud to display his creation for the camera. The kids enjoyed a little more sugar then I would normally allow, but a little sugar never hurt. They were smiling and giggling and it was a whole family effort.

The best part we got to help give to a good cause well we had fun. Thanks to Kellogg’s and their Treats for Toys campaign for seeing need in Canada and support The Salvation Army.
