The Smuggs leaders make the day enjoyable, so much so the kids love heading off to kids camp. Okay, I have to admit day one is always tough, but by pickup time the kids cannot stop talking about all the fun they had and what their plans are for tomorrow.

Parents Gone Wild At Smugglers’ Notch While The Kids Are At Smuggs Kids Camp

Alright, not so much wild, I mean we are mature adults, and we may have squeezed in a siesta – we are getting old and heck it is our holiday’s. Keep reading to see what parents do when the kids are Kids camp at Smugglers’ Notch in the summer.

Boyden Valley Winery

I highly suggest you checkout Boyden Valley Winery just minutes from the mountain. For $10 US you can taste 7seven wines + keep your wine glass. You can also enjoy a cheese platter overlooking fields of grape vines.

Smuggs also offers a Canoe & Wine tour which shuttles you back to the resort after your taste testing. Which means, sample as many as you’d like because you’ll have a DD. And this Vermont Ice Pomme Noir is spot on! We hit our duty-free limit after touring Boyden Winery. I wonder if they ship to Canada?

Book a Segway Tour

We’re not talking on a paved walkway; you’ll be in the middle of nature, over rocks, up to a mountain, on an uneven train and every single foot you move you’ll feel a wave of adrenal.

I highly recommend everyone rents a Segway once in a lifetime. Maybe it’s because I like speed (which by the way was a very appropriate nickname our leader gave me) but there is something that gets your blood flowing while riding around on two wheels with a motor.

Disclosure, I did fall, but it was entirely my own doing. Segways are very safe when you slow down, lean back and follow the rules. Note to self: lean back with your shoulders don’t just push your butt back to slow down your Segway. I laughed it off and sped away, of course.

Road Trip Into Stowe

One day while the kids were in kids camp we took a small trip to Stowe. What you may not know is this road closes for the winter. Driving between the Notch is winding, one lane and almost feels like you’ve landed in a fairytale.

While in Stowe grab lunch at one of the many restaurants and stroll the cute little shops.

Vermont Zip Line Canopy Tour and Aerial Adventure Park

Now I’m a little bummed because I would have loved to book a Zipline canopy tour while we were at Smuggs. But since I’m nursing tore ligaments in my ankle from this spring, I’ll have to wait until next time. But you should do it. I mean you’re soaring down more than 4,500 feet of zip lines, cross bridges high above the forest floor, rappel from trees, and enjoy stunning views of Smuggs and the surrounding area. What an epic ride!

They also offer Aerial Adventure Park, which is another fun option for active couples and families.

And after you’ve had the day rekindling your love, you pick the kids up around 4 pm and enjoy an evening of family time however you’d like.

Who knows you could do it all over again on day two or opt to keep the kids out of camp for the day and enjoy Smuggs summer itinerary. Make your vacation look and feel exactly how you’d like it too.
