Smugglers’ Notch Vermont: Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo Review
The moment I walked into our Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo at Smugglers’ Notch Vermont you couldn’t wipe off the smile on my face. You see, when you have four kids traveling as a big family typically means cramming six people into a small space. There was nothing tiny about our Smuggs Condo. Keep reading for our full Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo review and ten reasons we fell in love with our Smuggs condo.
Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo Review
Adults Wing vs. Kids Wing
What I loved most was that the kids and adults each had their own wing. One end featured the master bedroom, bathroom, private balcony. The other end of the condo two more bedrooms, bathroom. This layout allows for the parents and kids to go to bed at different times. Especially after a busy day of Kids camp, the kids will be worn out leaving a little adult time on the clock.
Here’s a layout of Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo so you can see the design.
The kid’s bedroom includes four twin beds, which worked perfectly for our four children, everyone got their own bed! Thank you, Smuggs for thinking about the kids and parents.
So.Much.Space.
1,713 square feet designed with families in mind. The way Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo flows, had both hubby and me dreaming that if we were ever to build a cottage, it would be designed in much of the same layout. There was enough space so that after a long day of skiing, everyone could kick back and relax without feeling crowded.
Yes, the accommodations look a little outdated, that was my first thought when I saw them online before our visit. But the Kestrels 3-bedroom condos are extremely clean, well-taken care of, very cozy and welcoming. I’d stay in the Kestrels 3-bedroom condo again – I felt like I was at home during our stay. If I were to suggest for consideration, I would love to fall into bed on a warm duvet and fluffy pillows. I’m not a fan of bedspreads, and the pillows were a little flat for my liking. But very clean and the bed was incredibly cozy – three cheers for a comfortable mattress!
Full-Sized, Fully Stocked Kitchen
Eating out is one of my favorite things to do, but sometimes the wallet doesn’t agree. The most significant tip I can give you to make your family vacation more affordable is to find accommodations with a fully stocked kitchen. Smugglers Notch Vermont Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo’s have full-sized, fully stocked kitchens for their guest.
Pro Tip: Plan a meal or two that you can throw in the slow cooker before heading out for a day of skiing. We grabbed all our groceries local and stopped at Bob’s Meat Market in St Albans City, Vermont before heading to Smuggs. We bought a slab of beef brisket for the slow cooker; it turned out delicious.
With a cut like beef brisket, we managed to get a few meals out of it, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, nachos. Having a full-sized kitchen on hand also means we got the opportunity to work together as a family.
Jacuzzi Tub and Steam Shower
The master en suite bathroom includes a jacuzzi tub for two, plus a steam shower for two as well. Every single day I ran a hot bath and kicked back with a glass of wine in the jacuzzi tub. For the sake of trying it, I ran the steam shower on our last day, which is also a neat feature to indulge in.
Pro tip: Bring along some Epsom salts for the jacuzzi tub, because after a couple tumbles on the slopes, my muscles could have used a sprinkle in my bath.
Natural Gas Fire Places
After a long cold, day nothing was more rewarding then curling in front of the fire with a warm drink. The Kestrels 3-bedroom condos have two natural gas fireplaces that turn on with the flick of a switch.
Washer and Dryer
There are two reasons I loved having this duel on hand. Firstly, to quickly dry snow gear when you need to head back out again. Secondly, I brought home clean laundry instead of dirty laundry.
Pro tip: They provide you with two packets of laundry soap. But if you plan on washing more than two loads, bring along a couple of laundry pods and dryer sheets.
Screened-In Porch With A View
You don’t need words to appreciate this bonus of staying at Smugglers Notch Vermont Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condos.
Shuttle On-Demand
When I heard we were going to have to use a shuttle, I’ll be honest; I wasn’t looking forward to it. But by the end of day one, I was converted. Smuggs shuttle on-demand service provide is so smooth you’ll love it. A quick call the moment you’re ready to leave the condo and within 5 minutes give or take you had a shuttle available to take you where you wanted to go. No starting the truck, loading skis, loading kids, the whole experience was smooth, and I enjoyed being chauffeured around. Yes, they do have ski in and out condos, you can read Andrea’s Falcons Condo Review here.
Hot Tub
Kestrels 3-bedroom condos feature a community outdoor hot tub. The kids enjoyed soaking in the hot tub surrounded by snow. They even dared each other to jump out and make snowballs before jumping back in. Oh, the joys of being a kid again.
From the moment we checked out our whole family couldn’t wait to start planning our second trip to Smugglers’ Notch. The humble, happy, laid back feeling we felt left us with warm memories and a craving to experience it all over again. Our Kestrels 3-Bedroom Condo accommodations were clean, spacious and they had a view you’d dream to experience.
