Activities to Do at Tremblant With Kids in the Summer
This summer we took our kids to Mont Tremblant sitting in the lush forest of Laurentian Mountains located 140 kilometers northeast of Ottawa. Tremblant is waiting with open arms to welcome your family to experience a laid-back adventure filled with new experiences and old. When you think of Tremblant, you may know it as a winter ski destination, but Tremblant is a four-season resort that has something for everyone in your family to enjoy.
Here are our top six activities to do at Tremblant with kids in the Summer:
Tonga Lumina – A Night Walk
The brand-new experience at Tremblant has everyone talking. Tonga Lumina is a night walk in search of the Giant.
Legend has it that a sleeping giant calls Mont Tremblant home. The last survivor of his kind, this mythical being is the ancestral protector of the fauna, the flora, and the rivers. For thousands of years, his great wisdom was so revered and sought after that his descendants would return to Mont Tremblant from far and wide every time he awoke from his slumber. The giant’s legendary wrath has inspired fear since ancient times. Even today, if anyone disobeys the sacred laws of nature, the power of his fury makes the mountainside tremble…(read more about Tonga Lumina here.)
Tonga Lumina is not scary at all, although when you think of searching for a Giant in the dark of the night that’s where your mind goes. It’s a very family friendly experience that awakens all your senses. Tonga Lumina is a light show with scented smoke, and I have no clue how it’s possible to make the mountainside tremble, but they managed to make it happen. Tonga Lumina experience lasts about 1 hour and is 1.5 km hike. Please note: this hike is on very uneven ground and is not stroller friendly. I’d highly recommend you use a baby carrier and wear proper footwear.
Tonga Lumina takes you to a new world and for one hour nothing matters but each mindful step you take in search for the Giant!
Following the beat of the soothing music in search of the Giant is something that has stuck with our children. Since our Tonga Lumina experience every time my kids hear peaceful music, it’s a reminder of our night walk through Mont Tremblant. The experience is hard to explain; it’s something you would see at Disney; no detail is overlooked, and every corner of the 1.5 km hike is illuminated and touching all your senses.
Mountain Biking
The first time we learned to ski as a family a few years ago, it gave us a sport to experience together. A hobby we all loved no matter our athletic applies. Even I could keep up with my kids on skis once I got the hang of it. And although I cannot run as fast as my kids anymore (yep, that time has come), I can ski along the side of them. This summer we found a new family sport in Mountain Biking. No matter where we went this summer, we brought our bikes or rent bikes to experience this joyful summer hobby together.
The Centre Aventure du Chalet des voyageurs have bikes for all sizes and types of biking your family loves. They even have bike trailers and pony bikes for little ones to tag along. You may be thinking Mountain Biking down Mont Tremblant, are you kidding me?
Trail Riding Not Downhill Riding
Okay as much as I’ve found a new love in downhill biking, Mont Tremblant is something I wouldn’t think about tackling. Don’t worry; downhill is not allowed on the mountain for ecological reasons; which made that decision with my adventurist family much easier on me. Tremblant Resort has many high-quality networks of mountain bike trails right at the foot of the resort. Whether you’re into modules, river banks or scenic views, Tremblant has trails for all levels of riders.
Tremblant Resort has many high-quality networks of mountain bike trails right at the foot of the resort. Whether you’re into modules, river banks or scenic views, Tremblant has trails for all levels of riders. What I love about the mountain bike trails from Tremblant is my family could choose to take off paths for a more advanced experience, which allows me to ride on the paved trail beside my family comfortably. Mountain biking is not only an excellent way to experience a sport together but also a way to discover the Mont-Tremblant region.
Take in a Concert
I love music. It’s 10:30 am, and I’ve already enjoyed a dance party in my kitchen before I took the kids to school. Currently, I’m plugged in listening to Sol Rising playlist on Spotify. Another artist I was introduced to at Tremblant. Music is a huge part of my day and stumbling on concerts in Promenade Deslauriers is another highlight of our vacation.
Banzaï was our kid’s favorite family fun show. Banzaï is a special event put on by Tremblant Resort featuring interactive entertainment for families of all ages. Starting at 7:30 p.m. we all gathered at Place Saint-Bernard. Lights, music, dancing, games, and tons of prizes and giveaways for everyone. The kids laughed and smiled non-stop. Do you know those moments when you can read pure joy across the face of your child? During this concert, our children were experiencing nothing but pure happiness.
Another concert that struck a chord with our family was when we stumbled on Big Village Little City taking place at the intimate setting Promenade Deslauriers. Big Village Little City is a brass-driven hip-hop funk band. They captured everyone that walked by. Our schedule stopped, and before we knew it, we were sitting for the remainder of their set.
Much like food music can help bring you back to a moment you’ve experienced. I highly suggest you stop and listen to the music and hey dance like no one is watching because that moment is yours to own!
Luge
If you follow me on social media, you’d know besides adventure, and nature our family loves speed, anything with wheels. The Luge was the one highlights our kids were looking forward to doing long before our arrival date.
The Luge is a 1.4 km long track that takes about 7 minutes to drive down. This 3-wheel-cart uses a unique braking and steering system that gives the rider full control. What we loved was it was an activity even our 6-year-old got to drive. Don’t worry they give you complete training before heading down the mountain. If your little one isn’t comfortable driving, they can buddy up with an adult.
The Lung is one of those rides that give you a smile, and deep-down belly laughs from start to finish and long after you completed the Luge.
Aquaclub La Source
If you’re looking for a couple of hours to soak, relax or jump from a Tarzan rope a visit to Aquaclub La Source is a must. With an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tubs and even a steam room there was something for our whole family at Aquaclub La Source. Typically, we seek out non-stop adventure when we travel, and the Tarzan rope inspired the adventure inside our kids.
Aquaclub La Source is a cool place to spend the day with the kids; with heated pools for Mom and Dad. Aquaclub La Source gives you the feeling of being somewhere tropical and a place our children didn’t want to leave. I can see this would be a fun spot during a winter getaway at Tremblant too.
Ride the Gondola – Discover the Summit
You can easily spend the whole day making memories at the summit and feeling on top of the world. The Birds of Prey show is a must, and a hike through the 360 trail is worth the view! If you haven’t read my first post in this series make sure you explore the summit of Tremblant during your stay. Read more here: Exploring the Summit of Tremblant In the Summer with Kids.

Tammy, hi. Thanks for your article about Tremblant. As I’m researching options about Tremblant, I’m curious (to know how you’d recommend a family with 3 kids to travel). How did you make it from Ontario to Mont-Tremblant? Did you fly or did you drive there? Thanks.
Hi Adrien, You’re so very welcome. We drove from Kawartha Lakes, it was about a 6-hour drive give or take. I guess travel depends on where you’re coming from. Tremblant is beautiful in the summer and winter! Enjoy.
