You’ve got great friends coming over but want to keep it simple at the same time pull out all the stops to make summer great. Thinking out of the box with the help of Great Value food and you have yourself a perfect combination.
It’s the little extra touches that #MakeSummerGreat
Looking for summer entertaining tips that will sure wow your guest? Bring on the little extra touches and you will be the talk of summer.
Burger Bar
Burgers are a staple of any BBQ, and I will be honest, I am a burger snob when it comes to mine.
Typical tri-packs are handy but kick up the sauces a notch, and you’ve inspired the taste buds of all your guests. This Secret Burger Sauce is sure to have your guest talking. But my favorite heat and sweet combination is this Maple-Sesame Mustard recipe topped over a Great Value Beef Burger.
Personalization
You know who’s coming – why not add a personal touch to your menu with Rainbow Fruit Skewers with Creamy Lemon Dip in their very own cute mini mason jars.
Crank Up Chips & Dip
With this Creamy Taco Dip recipe, your guests won’t stop dipping. Add fresh veggies and you’ve covered off everyone’s wishes.
We All Scream for Ice Cream
No BBQ is complete without dessert and ice cream is a summer staple. Unique flavour combinations like Great Value Cowmooflage Ice Cream and Great Value Cotton Candy Ice Cream will have everyone asking for another scoop.
Place those extra scoops in these homemade Marshmallow-Cereal Ice Cream Bowls and everyone will want the recipe.
They are chewy, sweet and the perfect bottom to any sundae. Don’t forget the sprinkles, chocolate chips, and all the Great Value sundae toppings.
Oh Canada – Late Night Treat
Great BBQs go overtime and this Maple S’Mores recipe will have even the parents reaching for a second.
What you need:
- 8 Great Value Maple Crème Premium Cookies
- 100g Great Value Dark Chocolate Bar, broken into 8 pieces
- 8 large Great Value Marshmallows
You can preheat the broiler. Line a small baking sheet with foil.
Gently pry cookies into 2 halves (use a butter knife if required). Top one-half with a piece of chocolate.
Place marshmallows on prepared sheet. Broil, constantly watching, about 30 seconds or until dark golden.
Tip marshmallows onto their sides and broil another 15 to 30 seconds or until toasted. Place a toasted marshmallow on top of chocolate and sandwich with top cookie. Let stand 1 minute before eating (if you can wait!).
OR
You can roast your Great Value Marshmallows over an open fire.
Gently pry cookies into 2 halves (use a butter knife if required). Top one-half with a piece of chocolate.
Sandwich your fire roasted marshmallows between your cookies. Enjoy!
Makes 8.
