Hexbug Aquabot Review
Birthday Party Loot Bag
It was a few years ago when our Miss C left a birthday party with a gold fish, small bowl and food. The parent of the party asked in advance if this was okay and of course we felt the need to say yes everyone else was taking one away at the party. Miss C who would of been 6 at the time was excited to take on the responsibility.
We all know how that ended… mommy was cleaning the bowl, reminding her to feed it and it became a chore for me to add to my over loaded to-do list.
Fast forward to today. Our little gold fish (I cannot remember his name) passed and that was a whole other emotional state of parenting we experienced.
We got another fish.
I prepared the children for the upcoming responsibilities of taking on yet another fish. This time they are a few years older and I am sure the responsibility would be easier to complete, right?
No way… this time our little fish came with batteries, didn’t dirty our tank and required no food. That is my kind of fish!
Hexbug Aquabot Review
To be honest the idea of the Hexbug Aquabot had me excited something the kids could watch circle the tank but I didn’t have to worry about keeping it alive.
The idea of the Hexbug Aquabot seemed to be the prefect fish, but this toy fish uses a lot of battery juice. After numerous laps of the tank and one play in the bath his batteries were already dead. Be prepared the Hexbug Aquabot’s batteries last around 2 hours of playtime so you better keep those tiny button batteries on hand for excessive play.
The boys did enjoy taking the Hexbug Aquabot into the bath for some extra fun. Finding him under the bubbles did bring on lot’s of giggles.
Do you have a pet fish?
Thanks for reading In R Dream!
These look like a neat ‘first pet’. It’s unfortunate that the battery life is not adequate.
My grandson received a Hexbug Aquabot for Christmas and won’t have a bath without it, he absolutely LOVES it!
They do make bath time FUN!
We just noticed these at the store tonight, good to know about the batteries. We don’t have a fish but have in the past and my son decided to take it out of the tank for a ride in his wagon and then back into the bowl. Needless to say “Oscar Fuzzy Spiderman” didn’t survive.
Oh no Tara! Little boys have imaginations!
Wow this is so cool! I wish I had one.
