Double Taking: Adventures of Netflix #StreamTeam
This summer is unlike any I can remember with much more rain than sunshine and cooler days than hot. Typically we don’t watch much T.V during the rays of summer but this year on those wet and cold days I have been snuggling up with the kids and taking in adventures of Netflix. Along with filling the space of mother natures tear drops, Netflix has been my go to when sibling rivalry is in full attack or when goosebumps are at bay.
Double Take
As a parent I find it hard to find a movie that will keep my full attention and at the same time the attention of my children. That being said there are a few adventure movies on Netflix I have snuggled up to that have left me watching them twice – yep I watched these two films with the kids twice this Summer and they were so good I may pop some more popcorn and do it again
A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures
The main character is Sammy, a sea turtle. The story starts when his egg hatches and his adventure begin. Sammy then leaves the beach and spends the next 50 years dreaming and exploring the world’s oceans, all while trying to find his first love.
I love a good love story and it is obvious by the title of my blog I am a big fan of dreaming and making your dreams come true. I found an attraction to Sammy the sea turtle and his adventure, each character he meets, each road block leaves you wondering if he will find his true love. It’s a cute story and the best part is “A Turtle’s Tale 2: Sammy’s Escape From Paradise” is the final chapter of Sammy’s story as a mature grandpa which is also on Netflix.
Tad: The Lost Explorer
The story is about Tad a construction worker who dreams of being an archaeologist. He is mistaken for his hero and gets swept up in an exciting adventure in Peru as an archaeologist. There I go again getting all sobby about a story where dreams come true.
Tad: The Lost Explorer is an example that if you see it, it will come true. Not only did I take this opportunity to share inspiration with our children, together we learnt about archaeology and some historical findings. Of course there is a love story inside it that pulls at the heart-strings of the ladies. This is an adventure your family will not regret taking.
What are your favorite adventure movies to watch with the children?
Thank you for reading In R Dream!
I am part of the Netflix Stream Team and receive special perks. Although I am never influenced to tell more than my own opinion.
I love ‘adventure’ movies to spark the imagination!
My son is really into the Lego Movie right now! He’s watched it over and over with “daddy” all the time.
