Virtually Connecting With My Mom This #MothersDay { HP Pavilion X360 Review } #HPLovesMoms #HPMom
The Switch
It wasn’t till 8 years ago when I celebrated my first Mother’s Day as a mother, did I actually truly understand how special Mother’s Day meant to a mother. Of course we celebrated it with our mother’s but to feel the deep down pulling of my heart-strings didn’t come till I could experience caring for my own child. You never truly understand the connection a mother will hold with their child until you’re a mother.
Absorbed
They always say being a parent doesn’t come with instructions and that couldn’t be more true. Although some how your motherly instinct kicks into high gear the first time you meet your precious little baby or child. From that moment on you try your best and give motherhood all you got because doing your best is all there is for you to do.
But what happens when you are in the thick of motherhood?
What happens when the rest of your life becomes a fog?
I will be the first to admit I feel like I have lost that spark with my own mother, friends and family, because naturally I have been so absorbed in our four children. Having them all back to back hasn’t really helped with my connections, although I wish it did bring us all closer together.
No Regrets
This year I have vowed to be more spiritual within and see life with a new set of eyes. History is something I cannot change but I can learn from it. I will live with no regrets today and I hold the key to my future.
The Gift of Connecting
Even the short 30 minute drive between my mother and I can seem little a huge leap for me between school hours, play dates and chores. However, this Mother’s Day HP and I collaborated on a special little project which will help my mother and I connect virtually.
My mother doesn’t have a computer and has very basic computer skills. Dialog between emails has always been hit and miss for us. With a computer always at my finger tips I am finding it the easiest way for me to juggle my many balls and the most effective way for me to keep connected.
When my gracious friends at HP sent me along an HP Pavilion X360 to gift to my mother this Mother’s day I knew I would need to book a day with her to walk her through some computer 101, bringing her up to speed in technology.
My mother was in absolute shock and the expression of joy on her face, brightened my world. She is the one person in my life I crave more of and making her happy and gifting her something that she actually needed, melted my heart.
HP Loves Moms, Moms Love HP Pavilion X360 Review
We spent the day together (which was amazing), together we set up all the apps that would make her life easier and help give us more connection time. She was so excited about her email linking to her calendar and displayed on her desktop. So was I because now we can book dates and email them to each other with ease. Not only is the HP Pavilion 360 a laptop but also a tablet, this feature is by far my favorite along with the touchscreen!
It really feels great to have built a new way to connect with my mother and it only weights 3.08 lbs. A few hours after she was all set up she felt confident in her new device because HP makes it easy with a tap, swipe or pinch we will be connected in more ways than one.
With HP TrueVision HD Webcam we look forward to Skyping together with the kids which will help us with face to face connections during our busy week nights. The HP Pavilion X360 has won my heart with it’s versatility and ease of use.
Gratitude
After our visit was over I felt extremely satisfied about the connections that we would make through the digital world to each other. With knowledge and a simple tool thanks to HP, our future was looking brighter and I couldn’t stop smiling after my mother left, I am pretty confident she was wearing the same smile.
How are you building a deeper connection to a mother in your life this Mother’s Day?

What a wonderful way to connect with you mom. Think of all the ways that your kids can connect with her too now that she has a computer!
What a wonderful gift from HP! My own mama lives away from me and this is something I sure could use. Happy Mama’s Day Tammy!
AWW!! that is so sweet!! What a great way to connect with your Mom when you can’t be physically together!!
So heartwarming. What a wonderful, and touching gift that HP has given to you and your mom. This day in age – we really are so lucky to have the opportunity to connect through apps, scheduling, and of course face to face connections. I will definitely have to do this with my mom this year, as I am traveling during the mother’s day weekend. Luckily, I have the little one with me, so I won’t be alone on that day either. What a great gift!
I lost my mom this past Christmas, so connecting with her is not a possibility for me this year. This is a great way to keep in touch whit your mom when she is so far away!
Sorry Kelly about your lost. I hope you get an opportunity to reflect this weekend on happy memories of your time together? I pray you find some peace this Mother’s day.
That’s absolutely amazing. I love the look of surprise on her face.
The surprise was priceless! Thanks Crystal!

I absolutely LOVE the express on her face when she is opening the gift. She was shocked and LOVE IT!!!! Great post and I love the no regrets approach. I need to work on that one myself!
Kristen she had no idea, the surprise was priceless! It is a work in progress for me too 🙂
I try to build a deeper connection by spending time with my grandmother since my mother has passed.
