March Break Themed Day Ideas plus Family Movies #StreamTeam
Tomorrow officially is the start of March break in our house. Our three school aged children are looking forward to 10 days at home with mom and their little brother. Mom is looking for ways to keep everyone smiling and sibling rivalry at bay.
Five Themes of FUN
Last year I wrote a wonderful post called Five Themes of FUN on March Break. Each day featuring a new theme such as Kindness Day, Science Day, Music Day, Dragon Day and Bake & Freeze Day. We had a wonderful jam-packed week of making memories and doing things we loved. The best part it didn’t cost any money and we didn’t have to fight the crowds.

Kicking Back
This year leading up to March break we have had many obstacles and I don’t have as much ambition as I had last year. I am actually worn out and it hasn’t even started (why is a whole other post). Plus with this Polar Vortex this Winter I am not as cheery as maybe I should be. Winter has never been my favorite season and it has been a long and cold Winter here, but I am keeping positive because I do see Spring coming our way…do you?
Even though I plan on kicking back a little I do have a few fun-filled activities in mind to build memories with our children along with some light Spring cleaning. However one day this March break I plan on mommy and the kids keeping their PJ’s on and calling it Movie and Pop Corn Day!
Movie and Pop Corn Day
When we need a great family movie to watch we go no further than the comfort of our own couch. With a very reasonable membership through Netflix we always have a great flick a click away.
Here are some great picks we may snuggle up and watch on our themed PJ and Pop Corn day!
Netflix Movies Ideas For Your Little Kids
- Turbo (Available March 12)
- Princess Lillifee and the Little Unicorn
- My Friend Bernard
- Moonbeam Bear and His Friends
- Happy Feet Two
- The Voyages of Young Dr. Doolittle
- Thomas & Friends: Creaky Cranky
- Dora The Explorer: Star Catcher
Netflix Movie Ideas For Your Big Kids
- Akeelah and the Bee
- Gulliver’s Travels
- The Croods
- Antz
- Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events
- Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer
- Hugo
- National Treasure
If your up to it first build a tent of blankets to watch the movies from. Bring in your dining room chairs and tight-fitting sheets to make a blanket tent. Don’t forget to pop some warm and buttery pop corn, grab a fuzzy warm blanket and enjoy some good laughs spending some time kicking back. We all need a little kick back once in a while.
What is your favorite Family Movies to snuggle up with on a PJ day?
Thanks for reading In R Dream!
My little one just loves all the Avengers movies! We often watch those.
Lately it’s been Toy Story for us! Anything Disney usually works well for our family!!! 😉
We love the Princess Bride for a family movie, it is funny and has action
We just watched ET–it’s a classic but really really enjoyed it in our PJ’s
