It is the little things. Werther’s No Sugar Added is my little sweet tooth fix!
Sweet tooth.
There has been a few times this year that I have shared my love of living a healthy lifestyle. But I am not sure I have shared my sweet tooth or my food addiction? Yes I am addicted to gourmet food, pop corn, chocolate and ice cream, there I said it.
I find it so hard to avoid the temptation when any of the above is on the table or in the cupboard for that matter. My food addiction steams from my love of cooking. I look at food as a form of entertainment, it is more than something to throw in my mouth I savor each bite, each ingredient, food takes me to my happy place.
Chocolate is my weakness, but not the milk chocolate candy you give the kids. I need the 85% dark chocolate, I need the rich flavor to coat my taste buds and make them dance. Having these addictions makes it hard for me to say no at times, my heart wants them and my mind knows I shouldn’t.
Mind over matter.
I try my hardest to read books that will better me as a person, business owner, mother and wife. They all say “mind over matter” is the way to success! I know this is true and I am working this theory into my everyday. But when my mind tells my taste buds it needs that sweet tooth fix it is extremely hard to turn it off. Almost to the point that I lose all focus in everything else but the chocolate or ice cream I want to eat.
Come on I know your with me?!
Small changes = Big rewards.
My goal this year has been to take baby steps to success. I cannot ditch everything I know and start new, but I can start small.
- First step for me has been recognizing my weakness. Don’t buy it! Or limit it to once a week. I am a firm believer that everything can be enjoyed in moderation.
- I have been succeeding with my portion control the last few weeks. Typically I would pile my plate as high as my buff husband’s but I have been realizing that going par to par with him is not the best for my health. The last few weeks I have been cutting my portions in almost half. To my surprise my appetite has cut back as well leaving me satisfied with less on my plate.
- Third, I have been successful with removing sugar from my diet. Why? It is doing me no good. It causing blood sugar spikes and high and lows in my day. There are many healthier alternatives on the market I have been using instead of the white stuff. Agave Syrup, Maple Syrup are two of my favorites. Both work great in my coffee and any baking I do.
- Next, I have been combating my sweet tooth with the world’s favorite caramel Werther’s Original No Sugar Added.
“These heavenly little pieces of joy have been giving me the sweet desire I have been needing to get through my day and assisting me with my personal changes (sweet addictions). As I sit here and write my mouth is swirling around a Werther’s Caramel Coffee No Sugar Added. A strong coffee flavor, smooth Caramel and a sweet spike that gives my mind the taste of sweet it is craving.”
Even small changes can bring about big results and I am confident that 2014 is my year of positive changes. With my introduction to Werther’s Original No Sugar Added and small changes in my diet such as portion control and eliminating sugar I am already feeling better and my clothes are fitting looser.
Werther’s Original No Sugar Added is my sweet tooth fix!

We are limiting and eliminating sugar from our household period this year. We are turning to more natural products to both help us be healthier and help our daughter cope with her auto immune disease. It has not been an easy transition for us but as we are almost a few months into it I find it is getting easier every day. Next time I need a fix so to speak I am going to be looking for these!
These look great! My mother is addicted to Werther’s Original. I’m going to get some of these for her to try 🙂 Thanks for the link to the promo, I will check that out too!
I completely hear you here 🙂 lol. I’m also a really big fan of Werther’s Original. They represent a small piece of my childhood. My parents use to keep a small crystal bowl of these candies in our formal living room for guests. I’d love to try the no sugar added version. Thanks for sharing.
