Fall To-Do Tips Before Snow Falls
The warm weather definitely seems to be sticking around but the leaves are beginning to fall and the crisp smell of autumn is in the air. This is the perfect time to start checking off your fall to-do list! My husband is the king of lists and his Fall list was growing long before the leaves started to change. If your like me and haven’t got your Fall to-do list started here are a few ways to get ahead of the game. Brought to you from Canadian Tire.
Get organized – The transition from summer to fall is a great time to evaluate your wardrobe and get your closet organized. Consider each piece and think about the last time you wore it; if it no longer fits or hasn’t been worn recently, donate it! Store remaining clothes in bins that fit under the bed and keep delicate items hung on space-saving hangers. It’s also a good time to consider installing a closet system that’s customizated to fit your needs.
Weather strip – Stop wasting energy and seek out one of the biggest culprits: air leaks. Inspect the caulking and seals around windows and add or replace the weather-stripping around your exterior doors to prevent heat-sucking drafts. If you’re leery about caulking for the first time, helpful how-to videos are a great resource to show you the way!
Clean the yard – Clean and store patio furniture in the shed and garage to make sure they’re ready for next year. Once the pieces are stored away, it’s time to clear the leaves. Remove leaves quickly and easily with a leaf blower. There are many varieties of leaf blowers available, including ones with a brushless motor that generates power without the hassle of gas. Once you collect all the leaves, fill up the leaf bag and keep it upright with a waste funnel.
Car cleaning – Give your car the cleaning it needs inside and out with a vacuum and cleaning products like Tub o’ Towels and Armor All Wipes. Get your car’s exterior ready for fall by polishing your headlights with a headlight restoration kit to ensure optimal visibility for the beginning of daylight savings and winter’s long evenings. Be sure to protect the rest of your car’s coat with a high-performance wax that will keep it looking great all season and protect against the harsh elements. To finish off your maintenance efforts remember to check your tire pressure – very important for keeping safe during the change in temperature.
Don’t forget to dig out the mittens and hats because last night was got frost in Ontario.
