@Walmart_Canada TOY TESTING Family shares the FUN { Guest Post }
Today we have a guest post from one of my BFF’s Jenn, you might be seeing a bit more of her around In R Dream in the months to come. Jenn is an active PTPA parent tester, her reviews have so much thought put into them, together with her wonderful writing skills, her strong reliable opinion shine’s through. I was so happy she agreed to writing today guest post on her experience as a Wal-Mart Toy Testing family !
Wal-Mart is a lifesaver! Not only do they have great prices, but it is my ‘happy’ place! Whenever the kids are bored or it’s raining outside, my kids and I head to Wal-Mart and always have a blast. Being kids, their favourite section is the toy section! We spend hours there playing with the toys, making birthday/Christmas lists and just have fun! One day, I came across an ad on Facebook looking for Wal-Mart Toy Testers! Knowing that my kids essentially do this on a weekly basis, we applied! Excitedly we got chosen and went to the international centre in July for the first Wal-Mart Toy Tester event ever held in the GTA. I didn’t have a clue what to expect! When we arrived there were no lines ups, dozens of helpful Wal-Mart assistants in brightly coloured lab coats, brand new X-box games for the kids to try and dozens of statues made out of Megablocks!
Once the doors were open, the Moms’ were handed pads with questionnaires on them and kids were directed to their age specific area. Each area had 20 + new toys in it that the kids were able to play with, test and enjoy! The kids loved the freedom of bouncing from toy to toy! There was tons of space for them to try put the toys out and they were all numbered so Mom was able to fairly rate the toys that their kids loved best!
Having 3 kids of different ages I was glad to have my Mom there for help! My youngest, Princess P is 11 months! She was directed to the baby area. The baby area was cornered off and the ground was protected with soft mats so the babies could crawl around and enjoy their toy testing experience too! P loved this toy by fisher price! She rolled a part on the toy and all the balls rolled down the sides! It was definitely her favourite! My other two are boys ages 4 and 6. They felt so special being able to try out toys and video games that aren’t even in the stores yet! There was such a wide variety of toys! Lego/Megablocks to dinky cars to video games to action figures! We excitedly bounced from toy to toy swearing that every toy was better then the last! My boys finally decided that the Nerf gun was their favourite!
It was a great day overall! Very well run and very organized! On the way out the kids were give loot bags that included a hat and t-shirt to make them official Wal-Mart Toy Testers! I hope we can participate in this amazing event again next year!
Looks like an amazing adventure, thank you Jenn for sharing your Wal-Mart Toy Testing Journey with In R Dream!
