Teaching R Future ~ it begins with YOU! ~ @MC_Canada Grant

When a baby is born, they look at you for guidance. They look at you as their teacher; they look at you
to
teach them the way. We teach our babies and toddlers, sleep
training, crawling, walking, talking, potty training and all the little
milestones in between.
Even as children grow, they still need us as their teachers and crave our guidance
Positive Thinking
In my opinion; its our job as parents to…
Teach our children to have
a
positive outlook on life. You can
do this by
modeling a positive
life
. We all have those days when everything just goes wrong. Sometimes
I sit back and watch the domino effect happening in my own day,
when negativity takes over. When I see it happening I take a “Time Out”
and try to
refresh my thinking to a
more
positive side. In life it’s
simple! Everything has a negative or everything has a
positive. It’s your choice how you want to
see it.
Teaching our children the power of positive thinking and being grateful for who they our and for what they have, will empower them for their future.
Responsibilities
In my opinion; its our job as parents to…
Map our children into responsible adults. Give them the opportunity to help with the chores, learn to do their laundry. Teach them to cook in the kitchen with
you.
Give them the life skills they will need to become responsible adults. I believe you can never start too early, teaching them how to run a home. It takes a family to make a family successful.
Possibilities
In my opinion; its our job as parents to…
Teach our children they
can be
anything they want to be.
The doors are always
open until they decide
to close them. Give them the
excitement that their future is bright! Ask them daily, weekly “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Talk about the
importance of why daddy goes
to work. What the construction worker on the side of the road is doing. That
the Monster Jam driver started driving with go-carts. Or that the hockey player
they
admire, practices hard
and long to
reach his goals.
dReam
In my opinion; its our job as parents to…
Teach our children to dream, and they will reach the stars. Dreams do come true with the right mind set. Dreams map
your
future. Share your dreams with your children. I am not talking dreams when you sleep (although that of course is fun too.) I mean do you dream about owning
property in the Caribbean? Or maybe you
dream about a kitchen renovation? Maybe your children dream of being a hockey player, or maybe a
race car driver? Or a mommy just like you!
Goals
In my opinion; its our job as parents to…
Teach our children to set goals daily, weekly, and yearly. This once
again starts with
YOU! We have all heard
the saying “Making a list, checking twice” Start with your daily list to-do.
Get your
kids involved; ask them what
they want out of their day. Writing it down will help your
goals come true. Make sure you re-read it throughout the day. Where do you
see yourself in 1, 2, 5 years from now? Set
goals for your life. We get one chance
to
make the best of it!
We need to take the lead and teach our children that life can and will be what you make it.
You are in
control of you and were
you want to be.
With the right attitude, positive thoughts all their dreams WILL come true!
We have the tools, the books, the internet, the excitement to make the best of what each day will bring us.
Let’s start now! Let’s
shape the future of our children.

It all starts with YOU!

Thank you for reading In R Dream!
