R Real Tree-dition
Big and Small ~ Short and Plump ~This one that one ~ Pine or Spruce
Christmas
Tree Hunting in R family is a BIG decision.
We don’t pull out of the Box. We hook up the trailer, pack the saw and
wander through rows and rows of Trees. All well getting in the spirit with R
Santa Hats on.

Christmas Tree traditions started long before we met. We both as children had Real
Christmas Trees in R home. So 12 yrs ago when we bought R first house (we were
YOUNG) we carried on the traditions. Even before we had children, we packed up
the dogs (Golden Retriever and Husky Sheppard) to join in the fun!

For
the last 4 years we have joined the tradition with my mom, dad, sisters,
brother and brother in law. We did R hunting this past weekend. I was a little
bummed usually the ground is snow covered for this yearly tradition. But we
still stuck it out in the rain. R family seems to hime and ha over the prefect
tree for R home. We go back and forth, this one that. It’s not big enough, or
it’s too plump, looking for the perfect tree. This year the children took a
little try at the sawing part, giving daddy a hand. After the tree is down, we
enjoy some Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider and some giggles and laughs.

For
us this is more than a tradition, we are creating memories, life experiences
for R children. Nothing will ever resemble the beautiful smell of evergreen
that fills the air. The prickles that come with a real tree also keep away
little fingers from pulling off the bulbs. Watering the tree is very important,
so this year we have given that huge responsibility to R oldest. She is so
happy to be the leader of that important role in R home. I couldn’t imagine a
Christmas without the imperfections, the “Charlie Browns”, crooked, bare,
plump, the prefect Real Christmas Tree R family picked with love!

In R Dream family with R pick of the Crop! Excuse the rain drops on the lens, lol
Although it’s a Tradition that we will carry on for many years to come, I have noticed more and more families going to plastic.
