Just like Us!
This past weekend we spent a day at the ZOO,
we seen so much and learned so much along the way! But the one thing that
touched my heart, and had my heart singing with joy. Was watching a Gorilla
Mama nurse her Gorilla Baby. We watched with just a panel of glass between her
and us.

It was nature at its best! Seeing the motherly instinct,
the bond between the Gorilla Mama and Gorilla Baby
was extremely similar to ours. As the Gorilla Baby nursed,
his Gorilla Mama stroked his head, and he stared back at his Mama with love and
thanks in his eyes. The same look my children gave/ give me in those special moments
we shared. The moments you always want to hold on too.

Ngozi and Little Nassir |
Here is a bit more information about the
Gorilla Team we saw! Little Nassir was born on September 2nd,
2009 (he is just over 2) His parents are Mom Ngozi, and Dad Charles. His mom
was brought to the zoo to breed with Charles, as the Western Lowland
Gorillas are an endangered species. Little Nassir is very important to the
North American Western Lowland Gorilla population!

I always knew Gorillas were similar to us, but really never
put much thought into it. Our trip was an eye opener for me, a learning
experience. A moment I will never forget watching the Gorilla Mama love, hold
and nurture her baby!

My heart is still melting from it!
