Location is the key to every girlfriend getaway. You want a one-stop, centrally located to all the invitees coming from North, South, East, and West. Blue Mountain Resort is located only 90 minutes north of Toronto, a few hours from the City of Kawartha Lakes, a hub in all directions.

And once you arrive at Blue, there are zero reasons to leave! Blue Mountain Resort is a human-made village, with everything you need in one handy spot. Pro tip: Although they have everything else in Blue Mountain Village, they do not have an LCBO; be sure to make that stop before you arrive. 

Blue Mountain Resort Home: Rivergrass 2-bedroom 

Whether you stay in the village or within a short stroll or shuttle ride, hotel accommodations, resort homes, and Blue Mountain Condos are centrally located as well. 

The variety of houses, townhomes, and condominiums add a little taste of home to any Blue Mountain vacation. With amenities and units up to four bedrooms, resort homes are ideally suited to larger groups looking to stay together during their visit. We stayed at a Blue Mountain Resort Home Rivergrass; which is less than a five-minute walk to Blue Mountain Village, with the option of calling a shuttle at any time. Rivergrass resort homes are enormous with an open-concept layout, including a fireplace, full kitchen, everything you’d require in a premier four-season destination. 

It’s handy to know that Blue Mountain offers more than 1,000 lodging units, including several Resort Home options.

Let’s Talk About The Eateries And Nightlife In Blue Mountain Villiage

I am driven by food. My soul and my taste buds require foodie moments at least once a day on vacation. It’s great to have accommodations with a kitchen but dining out is one of my favorite things to do. With 33 offerings I’ve barely tried all Blue Mountain Village Eateries and nightlife experiences over the years. But my favorite eateries to-date are these.

The Pottery Restaurant – They put on a delicious spread any time of the day. However, we enjoy bringing the kids here when we visit because of the laid-back atmosphere and breakfast buffet.

Tholos Restaurant – Opa! If you love authentic food, you’ll love the Greek Mediterranean Experience at Tholos. I highly suggest the octopus and Saganaki! 

Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill – I highly suggest you give O&B’s Blue Smoothie a try, I paired mine with bacon, because why not? 

Northwinds Brewery – Beer Pretzels to the Beeramisu and everything in-between I’ve yet to find a dish at Northwinds Brewery that hasn’t had me doing the foodie dance. And their duck fat French fries get me every time.

Firehall Pizza – A fun atmosphere, huge salads, and nachos, plus, made to order pizzas to share. What’s not to love? 

If you’re looking for nightlife in Blue’s Village, Cooper Blues Bar is the place to be! 

Let’s talk about the outdoor attractions offered! 

There are a few adventure options at Blue Mountain Resort that appeal to a variety of interests. I love the idea of the ‘Play All Day’ wristband, which allows your group to enjoy more than 13 attractions offered at one price per person! There is also an option to pay as you go as well if you’d like to only give a few attractions a try.  

My all-time favorite outdoor attraction at Blue Mountain Resort is zooming through the trees on the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster. I could hop on and off this ride, all day long. Something is freeing about controlling my speed up to 42 km per hour zooming through the mountain slope on a one-kilometer downhill ride.

You may also like to try these top outdoor attractions: Apex Bagjump, Woodlot Low Ropes course, Wind Rider Triple Zips, Climbing Wall, Cascade Putting Course, or a peaceful ride up and down on the Gondola.

Seriously, look at that VIEW! 

Newbie Downhill Mountain Biking at Blue Mountain Resort.

I’ve downhill mountain biked before, in numerous locations over the years, but never once did my lesson include body armor rental.

Yes, body armor!

Initially, I was freaked out, but by the end of our 2-hour lesson, I was exhausted but living on a high that nothing is impossible! Even as out of shape as I am these days, I rode down Blue Mountain on two wheels! I must give thanks to our fantastic instructor Gerry! He gave us tips and tricks that I’ve never been taught before. Gerry not only works at Blue, but he lives an active lifestyle filled with snowboarding and downhill biking.

Mountain Top Segway Tours at Blue Mountain Resort.

Alright, if Downhill Mountain Biking isn’t for you, that’s fine but I 100% suggest you give Mountain Top Segway Tours a try. I’ve ridden a handful of Segway’s over the years and the more and more I do, the more I love them. It is not hard; it’s relatively easy once you receive the necessary instructions. Don’t worry, your guide stays with you the whole time and won’t proceed until you’re comfortable. And you’ll have memories with stunning backdrops like this to look back on over the years!

Let’s talk about the indoor attractions offered! 

Crock-a-Doodle in Blue Mountain Village!

It rained while we were at Blue Mountain Resort, but that didn’t hold us back. We got creative at Crock-a-Doodle.

Who says painting pottery is for kids? 

I mentally got lost during my time at Crock-a-doodle; it’s peaceful, inspiring, and gratifying. Cortney, the franchisee, helped us find our inner creativity to let loose during the process, and the outcome was fantastic! Thank you, Cortney!

Pro tip: You cannot take your pottery home right away; it must go through the drying process. To avoid shipping charges, I’d suggest you book Crock-a-Doodle at the beginning of your trip so you can pick it up after 4 pm the next day.

Iwa Spa in Blue Mountain Village! 

There is no need to leave Blue Mountain Resort if you’re looking for some Zen! Iwa Spa is a new pampering experience located in Blue Mountain Village. During our stay, we booked a public yoga class in the gan•ban studio; which is a rock sauna heated to 40-42°C. It’s not experienced Yoga, but gentle yoga stretches on heated stone volcanic rock beds; a unique experience that melts away your problems. Iwa, has two gan• ban suites, a studio

Pro tip: Be sure to book your Gan•ban class in advance; they book up quickly. And while you are at Iwa Spa, you can also book other spa treatments.
