Harlem Globetrotters Are Back In Canada!

Harlem Globetrotters Are Back In Canada!

Over the years, I have heard my husband talk about experiencing The Harlem Globetrotters when he was a little boy. He was lucky enough to be called on the court front and center to play a few tricks with the team. This memory is one he has never forgotten and is reminded when The Harlem Globetrotters are back in town.

Happy 90th Year Harlem Globetrotters

2016 happens to be the Harlem Globetrotters 90th year!

It all started in 1926 when they were originally named Savoy Big Five. Today, the team has become one of the most recognizable franchises in sports. The Harlem Globetrotters continue a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that gets you the audience involved.

Ant, Big easy, Handles, Hi-Lite, and TNT are the center of it all and continue to thrill fans of all ages on the court.

My first Harlem Globetrotters game is just around the corner (April 3rd won’t come quick enough). In the meantime, I turned to Google to get a feel for them from their audience about just how memorable the Harlem Globetrotters experience is.

“I saw the Globetrotters in 1965.  I was 16 at the time. It is still one of the biggest highlights during my teen years.” – Sharon T

“Back in the 1960s, at age 10, I got to see the Globetrotters play in Philadelphia & I’ll NEVER forget them; I didn’t even breathe during the entire game!” – Karolyn K

“In these days, it truly is difficult to find something that will keep the entire family entertained. Sometimes it is especially difficult to capture the attention of multiple generations, but the Harlem Globetrotters have executed this with an amazing simplicity. Basketball is spectacularly represented with a full game, with the Globetrotters using their almost crazy athletic abilities to leap into the air and pass, slip, and slide across the court.” – Angela A

“In the late 1950s-early 60s, I attended a game in Chicago at which Ernie Banks and Satchel Paige were honored, guests. I was lucky enough to get their autographs, and I treasure them to this day.” – Roger M
