Peek Inside A Lazy Sunday Around Our Country Yard #NikonMoments

This is my final Nikon post as a Nikon Mom. Which by far has been one of my favourite ambassadorships to date. My Nikon has become a part of my every day and since owning a Nikon DSLR my family and I have taken to a new a new love of photography. During the last year the #NikonMOMents team has captured our memories at the heart of the image! This is my fifth NikonMOMents event from my five part series.

Since owning my Nikon D3300 it has become my right hand. I don’t go far without it and it is always the first thing I go to grab when I need to capture a memory. I always have it fully charged and ready to snap a picture of the simplest things that happen in our day to day life in living in the country.

Like when wild Turkeys (as babies are called Poults) decide to play in your garden. Or maxing out the zoom with my Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR to capture a picture of our Great Blue Heron stopping for his daily feed and a quick bath.

I never leave home without my Nikon but it is in the everyday moments and memories that I can capture too. A lazy Sunday afternoon can be just as important to look back on as Family Camping or your recent Family Vacation. That is exactly why I am going to give you a peek into a lazy Sunday in our country back yard. Memories that now are at the heart of the image!

In the picture above, I snuck up on daddy and all four kids stopping to watch fish swim by. I spy with my eye a giant frog, who is actually very noisy!

Past our pond is where the dirt bike trail has been cut for the kids to ride. They could spend hours out there if we let them. Little O has a mini four wheeler that daddy walks beside. It fit him just right.

The older three kids boot around the dirt bike track they designed and cut with Daddy.

There 50cc dirt bike is a great starter bike but I have a feeling the need for speed of Mr. L will soon outgrow it.

Who says girls can’t ride? Miss C is unstoppable when she gets out on the track.

Living in the country does mean that playtime is limited because there is always a project on the go. After a quick stop with the kids Daddy gets back to work building a new play center for the kids this summer.

Although there is nothing glamorous about this picture I do feel it is important to capture a moment to look back to show the kids just how hard working their daddy is. Plus, I like to have before and after pictures of all the projects we complete throughout our home and property to show our progress.

Well daddy continues to build the older boys enjoy a little time splashing in the pond.

No trip to the pond is complete without catching Tadpoles.

These are the moments I want to remember.

These are the moments I want our children to remember.

These are the moments that will build a bond that they will hold dear to their hearts.

My Nikon Mom for capturing these moments is: Invest in a zoom lens. The kit lens that came with my Nikon D3300 is light and its wide angle allows me to capture outside of the box but I found I needed to chase my children around to get the perfect shot, especially in our huge country yard. With my Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR I can sit on my blanket and zoom right to my children. This allows me to capture a moment they don’t even know is being captured. No lost opportunities, only gains with this Nikon lens.

I did get up a couple times from my lazy blanket to chase a Dragonfly around the pond.

While the boys were playing our Miss C was absorbing the whole meaning to a lazy Sunday in the hammock reading a book.
