This year I shared a huge excitement with you in my earlier post Our Princess is Riding A Float In This Years Toronto Santa Claus Parade 2014 that day has come and gone and on my Facebook page promised my loyal readers some pictures from the day.

The day started with us dropping Miss C off in Toronto at the start of the parade at 10am. As we drove down Dundas the streets were already lined with people. She was two hours away from the start of the parade and the anxiety was already building. Our little girl was smiling the biggest smile all morning that we every seen. She was glowing with excitement and mommy and daddy were so nervous. We had to drop her off at the start and make our way to the end of the parade. With the route being appox. 3 hours we wouldn’t see our little girl again till after 3pm. Thank goodness she had a friend. We set her up with a phone just in-case and walked away. Okay she walked away and mommy waited for her to turn around and she never looked back. She was living a dream, I was so proud of her.

Claiming Our Curb in Toronto

We drove to the tail end of the parade at the St Lawrence Market in Toronto. To our surprise we were about 4 hours out from seeing the first clown but the streets were already lined. We decided this was going to be a long day with three boys and set up. There was no way anyone was blocking my view of our little girls big day. Friends and family joined us and the streets were lined with excitement. It was an amazing experience and our boys were incredible!

I brought along my Nikon for the adventure there was no way I could trust my smartphone to capture this moment. Once it is in my hand I have so much fun snapping pictures. Here is a bunch of shots I took from our day at the Toronto Santa Claus Parade.

History here and it actually brought me back to my childhood.

Toronto Santa Claus Parade 2014 Blinky

It was actually funny my sister and her family came and right before we seen Blinky she said ” Tammy do you remember Blinky when we were kids?” Yes. Then Blinky came around the corner. Growing up in Toronto as a child Binky was at every event. He is a little rusty now but he is Toronto’s History.

Each year this Mother Goose float has been the opening float at the Toronto Santa Claus Parade. Again more History!

The Barbie and The Secret Door Float was beautiful no detail un-turned. The colours were rich and the sparkle was magical. The details the crew puts into each float was incredible!

There was a little delay at this point and this awesome ape defiantly caught the attention of the audience with her moves.

20 minutes after your child’s float arrives you have to go pick them up, hence why we stood at the end of the parade. Our Barbie Princess was tired and cold but her smile was still showing strong. Smiles bigger than I have ever seen before and many moments she said “mommy is today a dream?” I am glad to have her to enjoy Santa’s arrival.

The big man himself. I know he is busy but the whole way by us he didn’t look at this side of the street once. That would be my biggest complaint of the day, Santa never glanced our way. But that didn’t stop the kids from cheering him on.

The day was spectacular and goes down in history as one of our best memories yet!

Did you watch the Santa Claus Parade this year?

Thank you for reading In R Dream!
